Man…I’m so excited for this game. I’ve thoroughly enjoyed all the Splatoon single-player content, and everything I’m seeing so far looks to be a nice culmination of all they’ve done right in the series.

Whereas DK had me a tad bit uneasy (I have a sensory disorder and, predictably, I ended up not connecting with the game due to being way too overloaded by the overstimulating nature of the hame), Splatoon Raiders looks to be Nintendo’s H1/early-H2 smash hit for this year… at least as far as my tastes are concerned.

Raiders setups are already in place in Japanese game stores:

For those concerned about environmental variety, this clip on Twitter/X shows a volcanic level:

Nice! That makes me more hopeful.

Bet with Teeqoz for 2 weeks of avatar and sig control that Super Mario Odyssey would ship more than 7m on its first 2 months. The game shipped 9.07m, so I won

I’ve seen more than enough— one of the easiest day one purchases in a while. So excited for this game!

Looking at the pics more closely, they do seem to contains platforming sections, so the game won't just be combat:

Also, new one:

Yeah, not sold yet. I thought for being single player, they would explore the squids abilities to do other stuff than just shooting and bombing enemies...

Maybe mix with some new gameplay mechanics and elements: like survival crafting, resources management, puzzle solving and world exploration.

Its looks so far a bit plain for my taste. Hoping to be proven wrong later on, specially for the world map. I wanna see more diversity with the islands' thematics

Well, crafting is inkluded in the trailer, and the equipment also looks much less sleek than in the mainline Splatoon games, as if the titular mechanic jury-rigged them all together. And I have an inkling that ressource management and world exploration are also part of the game.

Some light puzzle mechanics always had their place in single-player modes of Splatoon, but they were pretty shallow. Maybe this gets expanded for this game.

Nice catch lol

I also could see weapon crafting, but I am hoping that you can build itens and structures that can go beyond than combat mechanisms

From the images that were posted after, we can expect something more than salmon fighting, but it would be great to have a new trailer that focus on those stuffs just to be sure

We reap what we sow

Some more tidbits from the Splatoon Twitter account:

- You equip "Gadgets" such as the axe and turret shown in the trailer. Here's a pic of some of them:

- You take one member of Deep Cut with you on missions

- Co-op is available as both local and online varieties

Haven't paid attention to anything Splatoon until now. I'll need to see more as far as content and how deep the game is.

The price is right though.
