we have trustable leaks of a next gen pokemon exclusive, which is already huge

Yes we have legitimate leaks of the next Pokémon game. I wouldn't say it's "trustable" it will release this year when the same leak has Z-A as a 2024 game. It's based on very old information.

Ikkaku (Z-A) was delayed a year, Gaia (Wind/Waves) can very easily suffer the same. Especially if team members from Z-A will work on it as them joining the project will have been delayed.

Even without Pokémon I expect SW2 to win though. But GTA VI will be a massive system seller for PS5 and any talk of "But everyone who wants it already owns a ps5!" Is nonsense.

The Switch being over 5 years old, having an install base of over 110m and already having several Pokémon games didn't stop S/V moving systems. A system seller is a system seller and talk like "everyone who wants to play Pokémon already has one." is just a poor line of reasoning.

GTA VI has high potential to be the biggest game launch of all time, and with it currently only slated for PS5 and a dead Xbox platform it will be huge for playstation.

I am not saying everyone wanting GTA VI already have a PS5, but I cant imagine PS5 reaching astronomical and unthinkable numbers in a year period because of GTA VI

With all due respect, do you believe in the premise that "game X will move consoles"?

If you believe in that premise, I'll tell you that GTA 6 as an exclusive (practically) should be multiplied by an order of magnitude!

Any game you can imagine... anything from the last 10 years is small, possibly insignificant, compared to GTA VI.

As I said before... Normally I would consider it impossible for the PS5 to beat Switch 2 in 2026, but we talking about GTA VI here... It is an absolutely incalculable factor in the equation, the potential is simply off the charts.

It would not surprise me to see 10M PC gamers buying PS5 just to play GTA VI in the first year. 2026 may break all Playstation records, it's very possible, GTA VI can truly do it.

Not only that, but to think that a plataform in its 6th year, getting close to a 100M userbase, having already, since its release, the definitive console version of the latest GTA (that is been receiving updates since last week) will, somehow, bring a huge and unimaginable amount of new players just for its upcoming next entry...

You guys sure love to make a fool of yourselfs

Where are the "guys" that are expecting those unimaginable, unthinkable, and astronomical numbers? And how many units sold would be unimaginable/unthinkable/astronomical in your mind? I'm confused.

More than 19M?

PS4 outsold the NS1 in 2018. NS1 first full year.

NS1 had its first Pokemon exclusive, even as Let's Go was lame af. NS2 will have its first Pokemon exclusive too.

PS4 had Read Dead Redemption 2, PS5 may have Grand Theft Auto 6 (I don't believe it, but that's me).
PS4 had Spiderman, PS5 will have Wolverine.
PS4 had God of War, and PS5 is supposed to have a God of War game (albeit not a main one).

It's funny how sockingly similar 2026 will be to 2018 regarding Playstation and Nintendo.

Nintendo comes from a stronger start with the NS2, but had a worse holiday than NS1.
PS5 is 1 year older in 2026 than the PS4 was in 2018, so it would reasonable to expect a similar sales trajetory to 2019, but the release schedule matches 2018 much better.

So again. I think some people may be surprised to how close it might turn out to be.

Switch 2 will win by a couple millions if my understanding of the market is correct. No way a lot of people will shell out more than $500 to play GTA VI, as the market dynamics have changed. People are more into lighter and less intense games these days. Given the fact that unemployment might rise due to mass layoffs, some hardcore gamers will not spend time killing people in Vice City, as finding a job will be their priority. That's my take though.
