The two best games on the list are Mario Maker and Splatoon. Both of these games were made obsolete by the Switch sequels. Basically the Switch made the Wii U completely obsolete, and the Wii U wasn't a popular system in the first place.

Not only that, but both those games were basically dependant on the servers that got shut down.

So those two didn't just got obsolete, they lost basically all value aside from a collection perspective.

Sad how the online focus can both make a game great, and also mean it eventually will lose all or close to all of its value.

Gladly there are people trying to keep those kind of games alive by being back online.

I spent probably an hour or two typing in codes and downloading levels for Mario Maker 1 before the servers got shut down. I grabbed all the anniversary celebration levels since I knew those would be good.

So many levels lost to corporate BS.

I read there was someone that backed up nearly all levels and was making them available online through some DNS that needed no modding on the console.

You can try looking it up on reddit, I never tried it myself.

From the poll I voted Nintendoland, nothing beats the asymetric gameplay that game provides.
Still it could be ported on Switch and played with multiple devices.

My WiiU highlight is Game&Wario's Sketch, basically Pictionary made for the Gamepad.
Its multiplayer awesomeness has provided this house multiple times of fun to gamers and non-gamers alike.

"¡Viva la Ñ!"

I'm still hoping for a port of NES Remix, was my favorite Wii U. Splatoon and Super Mario Maker would be next in line, but those at least got successors on the Switch...

For me it is Sonic Racing Transformed, I loved that game but sadly couldn't get into Team Sonic Racing to the same degree. Sonic Racing Transformed was one of my most played wii u games probably second only to Zelda BOTW. I actually preferred it over Mario Kart which I realise I'll probably get some flak for.

Transformed was a brilliant game, one of the best kart racers ever made in my opinion.

Even had 5-player local splitscreen on Wii U with 4 players on the TV and one on the Gamepad.
