Will it?

It really doesn't need it though. A game selling as much in its second week and even climbing the charts versus its first week (overtaking Oblivion this week), is always the sign of a viral hit. It will do 5m this year and probably 8-10m LT.

For sure it will, they are aligned with Xbox but not bound to them. If Xbox funded them yo get to this quality which I assume they did, they'll want as many sales as possible and that means Switch 2. It's UE5 so scaling it should be no issue.

Xbox is not the publisher, so we can't say they funded it, even if it is on gamepass. I haven't watched any tech breakdowns because I'm keen just to go into it fresh, so can't comment on the how it fairs and how hard it would be to scale down and maintain its art. UE5 and its core features are also heavy, so as scalable as it is, it doesn't mean it'll be an easy port. And whether the developers would want to port their game down to Switch 2 if it starts compromising their art is another thing... Essentially I don't think its at all a given it will be on Switch 2.

Someone funded it and they have said themselves they are aligned with MS. MS put them alongside big AAA games showcasing the game. I think it's safe to say MS slipped them money for gamepass well early in development and perhaps a bit more cause it just doesn't add up otherwise.

You don't just end up with this quality and breath of content and these VA/actors, it takes money and money early on.

Oh well, it was to good to be true. I said this was a fluke and they don't get it, I was probably right. They are going to nerf one of the go to one shot builds, just one, not any of the other insanely high damage or game breaking builds but they draw the line at the Stendhal spell. They say they still want people to break the game but still wanna Nerf. They are going to loose good will over this, nerfing a single player game where people are having fun. They'll roll it back afterwards, after the backlash I'm sure but it won't be the same. They're about to pull a Diiblo 4 and piss people off into dropping the end game, people will log on and find they're OP build isn't working and there will be a cascade of hate. Some people can't help but shoot themselves in the foot, doesn't matter if people are able to break a trillion damage the point here is it is end game building, move the damage cap to after the final boss and leave people to their fun. Fools.

Well a bit unfair if you compare the price of the game 5 million of a 69/79.99 game really means a lot more than 5 million of a 50/54.99 priced game.

But if the question was, does it deserve to sell more? Yes.

Not really think about it. What game cost more to make and market??.

Well it is not about that, If for example PS5 would sell so much as the DS more impressive for PS5 because of its price. Would Clair Obscur have passed 2 million by now if it was Premium priced?

Maybe so since its the better game imo and im pretty sure many others by now but thats all opinions.

Facts is this game costing less to make and market means 2 million sales at 50 is worth more then 5 million sales at 70 when the other game cost more to make and market thats not opinion. Plus this game still isnt done selling yet.

False. Until we know how much these games cost their publishers to make and market, we're just guessing.

Assuming Clair Obscur cost $20 million to develop/market: 2 million copies would have made $70 million. Profit = $50 million (plus GamePass inclusion money).

Assuming FF16 cost $100 million: 5 million copies (average price $60) would make $210 million. Profit = $110 million (plus Sony's money).

So even if Clair Obscur cost ZERO $ to develop and market, FF16 at 5 million would be a lot more profitable. Also, FF16 will generate more profit per copy sold past the breaking even point.

Well then thats your opinion like i said. if you want to believe that a 30 person team plus some extras cost as much as an FF game with 1000's of devs and massive marketing campaigns thats your opinion.

Bro go watch the making off video. Your kidding yourself if you think this game costed anywhere near what an FF game would cost. Its just silly to be even arguing this..
