Last edited by Machina - 3 days agoIt comes down to the price and when the next 3D Mario launches for me. $399 or less with a new 3D Mario game in 2025 means I'll pick it up this year. If it ends up costing more or 3D Mario isn't there this year I will wait before picking it up.

Almost certainly, but how soon will depend on what it gets at launch/year 1.
A new Mario Kart or 3D Mario would have me jumping as in soon as I can get my hands on one. I waited til September 2017 to buy a Switch as I felt burned by the Wii U and wanted to make sure it wasn't another dud before committing, but after the Switch's run, I have no such fears for Switch 2.
Just like the Switch, Xbox One/Xbox Series X, Playstation 4/Playstation 5, it will be a day 1 purchase.
What sealed the deal was backwards compatibility, so it's a no brainer to upgrade to better and newer hardware if you can bring your game library forwards.

No, not really. I'm fine with my PC, and I'm not into handheld gaming.
Unless it gets some really impressive exclusives, and it gets very cheap late into its cycle, I might consider getting one, though.
At some point, yes, assuming I can get my backlog sorted out before that. That is, I, uh, have a Wii that's mostly been gathering dust, so before I get a new Nintendo console, I should probably go through my fairly small Wii backlog... Unfortunately my backlog for other platforms is also huge and taking priority over the Wii, so let's see if the Switch 2 becomes outdated before I get to it. I intended to get the first Switch too, but you know, backlog.
Joining opinion with @Pemalite on this one. That and I still have the OG 1st version of the Switch .... 8 years later, yeah, I think it has a bit time for a change !
Also we got low key confirmation for a new Mario Kart. Of course, that makes even more excited to be there as soon as possible.

I'm a strict budget guy, so it depends when it comes out and what the price is.
I describe myself as a little dose of toxic masculinity.
Day one for sure for me, just as I have with the Wii, the WiiU and the Switch. That is, assuming I can get one. I’ve always waited in line, but maybe I’ll try the preorder method for the Switch 2. I just hate the idea that my preorder could be stuck in transit or get delayed.
What is everyone’s experience with preordering consoles?
