^ That review is not official and doesn't appear on OC so I can see why not unless many reviewers broke the embargo prior to the 22nd. Although, it does feel a little unfair.

We can't adjust our prediction after a review drops, even if it's one (can we?).

It's been one of my most anticipated games for years, as a fan of both Silent Hill and especially Ryukishi07. I'd be happy if it scores much higher than I predicted.

I’m not sure one outlet provides much insight as to where the game will land. For instance, I’m pretty sure games like Sonic ‘06 even received in the 80s by an outlet or two. (Or rather, pick any game that was either super acclaimed or very poorly recieved, I’m sure you can find a low or high score (resp.) for each.) You run the risk of placing too much or too little faith in a single review. It’s gamble, not much of an unfair advantage.

I’d say up until the embargo is lifted. Famitsu, for instance, releases reviews earlier than all other publications, yet we are still able to adjust scores even after the fact.

I'd say it's allowed for now since it's not a review on OpenCritic, but if you want to adjust it better make it quick.

I’m bumping up to 87 actually.

Then let me bump my SHf score back to 85.

Still not sure it can reach or exceed this, but even a strict father has to have faith in his kids. My other niche kid (Trails in the Sky) is currently sitting at 90!

Since we're allowing changes still, I will bump my SH f prediction slightly from 83 -> 85. In spite of the high early review from 1 critic, I still think there are going to be critics unhappy with the many changes from past games in the series, such as the move from the eponymous Silent Hill town in America to Japan, the toning back of combat and removal of guns, etc. I would be shocked if f out-reviewed 2 remake with it's 87 opencritic.

There are 6 early reviews for Silent Hill f on Metacritic. It seems like the game has a few problems with combat, but overall, the critics are praising it a lot.

Gamespot said that not only Silent Hill is back, but it's also at its strongest, while Polygon said that Konami and NeoBards have another surprisingly good modern Silent Hill game.

I think it will score high.

Raising Silksong to 91. Lowering Ghost of Yotei to 85.

My two most anticipated games of the year aren't listed :( Hopefully both (Silent Hill f and Trails in the Sky) exceed 85.

Trails in the Sky: 91

Silent Hill f: 87

Double yay! 😌

Currently playing Trails and loving it to bits.

A more solid combat system may have helped SHf hit 90. Personally, I would have gone with something closer to Haunting Ground, Clock Tower, and maybe take an element or two from Forbidden Siren. It would better suit the game's themes from what've seen. A fragile teenager beating the crap out of terrifying monsters diminishes the horror, but maybe it's narratively relevant.

Upping Ghost of Yotei to 92.

First reviews are out for Silent Hill f and its sitting at 87 with already 86 reviews. Rare for a game to hit that many reviews this quickly. Currently the closing prediction is @firebush03 who guessed exactly 87.
