Forums - Sony - Playstation portal is now a PSP if you heave fast Internet. 120 games, no ps5 needed.

I...

Have a PS portal 2 16.67%

Don't have a PS portal 0 0%

May get a PS portal 4 33.33%

Have no interest in PS portal 6 50.00%

Total:12

And I'm sure it'll only expand after beta testing. This thing is only about 200 euro right now.

I'm waiting for it to come in other colors.

Bite my shiny metal cockpit!

PS Premium only? Screw that. If they make it to the point I can stream my owned games, I’ll buy this is in a heartbeat.

Awesome update. This feature is a game changer for the device. Definitely makes it more appealing.

It'll only expand. Oddly they are doing the actual catalogue and not the easy route of PS3/premium titles so there's that. Returnal, R&C, TLOUS pt 1, The Witcher 3, Cyberpunk and Death Stranding are on that list, already wrecking the VITA's launch by a mile.

Kind of an apples to oranges comparison though considering the Vita needed its own separate lineup of games. I do appreciate Sony unlocking the Portal outside of requiring the console for sure though. I'm gonna wait to see how far they take it.

I suppose it's a small improvement, but it's not enough.
PS Portal really should've been the "Steam Deck" of PlayStation. It could've played PS4 games from your library but something different it could do from Steam Deck is streaming of PS5 games.

You may be interested to know that you can stream your own purchased games on PS5 with a premium account now.  Its actually one of the benefits of the membership tier. Starting 11/22 they are offering a 30% discount to new joins and upgrades.  This puts it right in line with the cost for the Regular PSPlus.  I don't know if you can stack but look into it and see if it works for you.

Super impressive. Once internet speeds increase across the board this it future of portabl, massively cheap and light device ready for on the go with console graphics reflective of the current generation and controls just as if you were holding the controller. Console experience right your hands. I could see a lot of people taking this to work and replacing the switch for that use. I have no idea why Xbox don't have one of these out since everything is an Xbox and confusion would be less.
