Halo CE Remake, gonna try to wrap this in a week or it gets lost in the backlog of upcoming DLC & Games. It’s .. ok .. so far even tho it looks like a bog standard UE5 game and is online only 🙃

So completed my Legendary and collectible run in Halo Remake. Characters models are hit and miss tho I do strangely like the new Cortana one. Vehicles seem to be so slow with the biggest offender being the warthog, the handling is atrocious. Game balancing feels untouched, Legendary still very much felt like Legendary. Love the new flood biome that now looks like it’s consuming levels. Sound design is sometimes overbearing but mostly really good. Graphics, they’re your standard UE5 preset, color saturation cranked to max, lots of purples (tho in Halo Remakes case they just made everything purple) .. I played this on a PS5Pro and the game looks … weird .. I got pretty bad eye strain playing it. The new skulls are fun, will run a few levels with them later on. I think the new Remix campaign is great, currently doing a LASO + Remix and had a ton of flood, brutes and sword elites on the first level 🥲. If they had left it at all that I’d say this would have been a solid remake. Unfortunately this single player game is unplayable on PS5 without signing into a MS account and .. the even by 343s standards the 343 created levels are still the worst content they’ve ever created. Just give the IP to a COD studio at this point, cmon MS you got like 12.

Only 17 mins in, but Signalis has caught me by surprise. Really excited to keep playing.

I was feeling nostalgic, so I played Raptor on Steam. It was an old bullet he’ll game from the 90s, and the first I’d played that allows you to customize your ship between levels. I was always partial to the auto-track mini gun because I could damage the boss even if it forced me to the edges of the screen.

There some other retro games I’m looking at on Steam, Fear Effect/2 from the PS1 era and Snow Bros. I should see if Steam has Growl on it; that game ate a lot of my quarters when arcades were a thing.

Are there any other great games on Steam that you’d find in arcades back in The Day? Could use some recommendations.

I know someone above mentioned tioned Signalis after a half hour exciting them but I failed to see it. The visual design doesn't fit the genre, there needs to be clearer boundaries and the style makes it difficult to explore. I'll try again but I just don't get it at the moment.

Also. The Witcher 3 remains thee best game ever, it is such a phenomenal damn game that 65 million sales doesn't even seem to be good enough. Withe another expansion on the menu I hope this ge gets even more eyes when the buzz comes around. I find it a tragedy that only 45% of PS5 players have made it out of White Orchard. The game might have been on PS plus or something but still, it feels tragic that only 30-40% or so have actually started the game proper.

Trying to give this game a proper chance. It's just killing time until Onimusha next month. Along with some other stuff as a I spin my wheels until then. This game is just, C grade. But I am a sicko for action games so I can still get enjoyment out of it.

Bite my shiny metal cockpit!

I need something small and/or mindless to play alongside The Witcher 3. Can't figure anything to fill the need when I don't have thebenergy for TW3.
