You got to take a step outside and chill.

Probably. You gotta admit, the world feels like it's falling apart on all fronts. Everything hinges on the US being the big super power that they have been and it just doesn't look like they are, no matter which one of the shit picks gets elected. The whole world order hinges on Trump or Kamala, let that sink in. Iran showed they are not afraid of the US, let that one sink in too.

Whatever happens in the Middle-East is very unlikely to develop into WW3.

Iran is still scared of America but they have to project power still, so when Israel does something that hurts Iran, they do something back that hurts Israel, I hate Iran (and Israel) but I fully believe that Iran does not want a war with Israel because it knows it will lose, so instead we have these tit-for-tat exchanges. If Iran wasn't afraid of Israel and/or America they'd get shit over with and declare war on Israel already, they'd stop hiding behind proxy terrorist groups. Israel sucks too, escalating every chance they get but WW3 is still very unlikely to come from this specific region.

By "this", you mean your thread? Yeah... you are definitely not behaving normally.

By this I mean Iran actually getting Glastonbury the Iron dome and leveling am airforce base, Russia looking to back Iran in the middle East while fighting in Europe. The world order is in question and the big swinging dick that is the US which is supposed to hold the world order together is in question itself on so many fronts. Shit is serious no matter how you slice it. Iran showed they aren't afraid of the US in the middle East, this should be a big red flag to everyone and the US is gonna let that slide, another red flag.

Russia is too weak to challenge the world order and China is too hesitant because they can't risk the destruction of their economy. Biden's approach to the wars in Ukraine and the Middle East is rubbish, but Biden will soon be gone, so that's that.

I don't think Kamala Harris, if elected, will stick to Biden's course of just getting by, rather she'll try to make things better and that includes how the USA approaches the ongoing wars. But she won't risk her election by putting foreign policy in the spotlight.

Legend11 correctly predicted that GTA IV will outsell Super Smash Bros. Brawl. I was wrong.

Well they certainly projected their power, them missiles were damn fast. I have to wonder did they actually expect the Iron Dome to take them down. Let's see what the tat in this title for tat is and what Isreal will do and if the US will openly help Isreal. We'll really be able to gleam a lot from how this is handled. The US and Isreal need to put the fear of God into Iran right now.

Leveling an airforce base?

Iran damaged a hangar

The base is quite fine. The intention was to show they could hit it, obviously as seen by the evidence, not to destroy it.

Shit is serious, but no WW3. What could definitely happen is another oil crisis. But that won't be as bad as in the seventies, plenty alternatives nowadays. Gas prices might go up. Prices might go up.

Yet (apart from Netanyahu) nobody is interested in a world war. The ME however, Israel (with US help) can do plenty damage there :/

The US is looking for an off ramp. The last thing that US and Israel should do now is disproportionate retaliation, especially now Iran considers its even again. (2 attacks on Iran, embassy in Damascas and bombing of Haniyeh in Tehran, 2 attacks on Israel with minor damage)

However Iran has said they will continue to defend themselves and next time they will target civilian infrastructure.

Hopefully that's just more threats to appear tough and they'll downplay a small retaliatory counter attack like they did last time. And hopefully Biden/Blinken can convince Netanyahu to keep it small.

It's in everyone's interest for the US to show Iran who's boss even if they do that through Isreal and it causes Iran to retaliate. We need the US to look strong (hopefully be strong too) to avoid a damn regional war in the ME and to chest bump at China and Russia.

No, The USA, China, and all of USA allies do not want war, so it won't happen. None of the biggest countries that would suffer in their GDP wants to go to war with each other and will avoid it at all costs. Money is always more important.

America is the biggest arms exporter in the world. War is what makes America money. Maybe America doesn't want to go to war themselves, but America has no problem fueling wars. That's what we were doing during World War 2 before we got involved.

That's what Netanyahu has been doing for the last year. See any positive outcome of that yet?

Netanyahu wants the US to act tough on Iran to provoke a regional war. That's his current goal to stay in power.

I seen the speech where he said he wanted the Iranian people free, indeed but I don't buy into this stuff that he's doing it all to stay in power. You'd have to believe October 7th to be a false flag, that he let the hypersonic missiles get past the domes defences and so on. I'd reckon he really does care about Isreal and seeing that part of the world at peace but just doesn't realise that he can't make that happen.

As for provoking Iran into a regional war, in a no win situation. You let them get away with this and they'll be encouraged, you belt them with with a few good bombs on nuclear test facilities and they're retaliate. My money would be on them NOT actually retaliating if they get a belt like that. It should quiten them down and make them think twice before they try to look strong for the terrorist groups again. When in doubt, belt it out.

I'm sorry but you sound like Netanyahu now.

As @Ryuu96 said "You got to take a step outside and chill."

That speech you're referring to is his modus operandi, trying to turn the population against the leader. He tried it in Gaza, he's trying it in Lebanon, it doesn't work. His speeches are mainly aimed at his supporters, since he wants to stay in power. Corruption trial and ICC arrest warrant are waiting for him when he loses the presidency. As well as investigations in all his screw ups at Oct 7.

It was not an inside job, it was arrogance and incompetence from the IDF and intelligence services that led to the wholly unexpected 'success' of the attack, leading to much larger fallout and atrocious collateral damage than Hamas every anticipated possible. Once the war(s) are over, he'll have to answer the questions of what all went wrong on Oct 7.

Netanyahu's life work is to prevent a Palestinian State, he's been at it since 1996. Yet this time he backed himself into a corner. Dismantling Hamas isn't working, bringing the hostages back by force isn't working, there isn't much left to bomb in Gaza besides the people in it. Hence he opened another war front in the North and is trying to get the USA on board to attack Iran. That's how he can score points domestically and stay in power.
