Early 2025

Exactly or around the same Switch timeline wise. We get the announcement around September/October.
Even though, we will learn of a new upcoming project following their Q&A session of their fiscal year in May. They will simply not commit to name anything for a while yet.

Then we get, the March, April or May 2025 release window for the Super Switch

No way that we'll see another holiday season without new hardware. We don't have any numbers for December '23 yet, but November was 40 % down year-on-year. Switch should sell below 10 million units in 2024 (which is lower than the first full year 2018) and unlike during the Wii U / 3DS era Nintendo has no other device to sell.

Nintendo announced Switch in October 2016, because they knew that Wii U wouldn't sell that many units anyway. An announcement in January and release in early March wouldn't have been enough time and they would have angered customers as well who would have bought a Wii U in December. Nintendo needed to release Switch in March to improve their fiscal year results.

As for Switch's successor, I expect that Nintendo mentions new hardware in May during their fiscal year report, a full presentation with name and launch titles in June and a release in November 2024.

I come from the future: The Switch 2 will be called the Nintendo Dual. It releases on

Probably around the time where E3 was held in the past

Looks like rumors are turning a bit more into concrete evidence.

Based on this if Nintendo announces the NG this year, then it should be releasing in 2025.
I want to predict March 2025, that way they can have the immediate die-hard fans, and the 2025Holiday season build up for games.

Lifetime Sales Predictions

Switch: 160 million (was 120 million, then 140 million, then 150 million)

PS5: 130 million (was 124 million)

Xbox Series X/S: 54 million (was 60 million, then 57 million)

Tbh I think Nintendo will announce the existence of new hardware coming in the Spring of 2024, maybe a Codename or just an announcement that they're working on new hardware, they might possibly do it during their fiscal year earnings report at around April/May so Nintendo could still keep pushing Switch hardware til the very last minute to reach their sales forecast just before the fiscal year ends. I believe a full reveal will happen at around the Fall before a March 2025 release. I'm still skeptical that Switch 2 will release in Q4 2024 since it'll be very uncharacteristic for Nintendo to go from announcement to release within a very small 6 month window, and no the Switch 1 isn't the same because the NX was announced 2 whole years before release.

My prediction is aging perfectly right now lol

I wish it were out today, here in 2023 where I am making my prediction, but my guess is probably next autumn, either late September or early October 2024 with a more robust reveal early 2025.

I’m going to stick to my prediction that I absolutely made in 2023.

I describe myself as a little dose of toxic masculinity.

Checked around on nintendo life and found that they have one game listed there for "Nintendo Switch 2" called "My Time at Evershine" from Pathea Games.

This is the first time I have seen a game listed for Nintendos next system.

Edit. added link to the announcement as well.

Edit 2, noticed an article here already mentioning this, and now feel like a fool =P
