I think one of the worst offenders is you cannot get some texts more than one time. Sometime the NPC gives you clues about the quests and History and if miss them puff, it's gone. It's so unforgiving, I love it lol

Basically, you're a tarnished. One of the ones who lost the Grace of the Eldtren and banished from the lands in between. The NPCs you find on the round table hold, the hub of the game, lead by Gideon are almost all tarnished like Rogier, Fia, Roderika, etc

The demigods are the bearers of the fragments of the Elden Ring. After Queen Marika, the Etern, got crazy because her first son and heir, prince Godwyn, The Golden, was murdered she broken the Elden Ring, because of that nobody can die anymore. Your mission as a tarnished is to beat the bears of the rings, some of them being Marika children, to become the Elden Lord, which is kind of the consort of Queen Marika, and restore the world.

The fingers are manifestation of the ill of the outer gods, there many of them and each of them wants a different thing for the lands in between. The 2 fingers specifically are manifestation of the Great Will, one of the demigods which wants to restore queen Marika as the ruler of the lands. Many of the side quests of the game is to swore allegiance to other factions/gods, which can lead to alternative endings

Thanks, but why were they banished and became tarnished. I still vastly prefer the way sikero story was told, I don't even know what the reason for the Ranna 3 sisters side quest or can't remember.

The idea is the lands in between are the lands of the people who have the grace of Erdtree, imagine it a superior being, a judge who chooses who is worth it to stay in Marikas realm. Why have they became tarnished? No idea, I don't even believe the developers really have a lore for all of them tbh, just accept some of them are tarnished and are there to help you as NPCs lol

I haven't play Sekiro yet, people say is a fantastic game, but thr lack of customization and RPG elements I love about the other Souls will be missing. I will play eventually, just don't know when

Ideally, you want to transition while your brand is still hot, not wait until its dying. You don't want to end up in a position where your next system is still a while away but your current one is running out of steam.

The damn switch hasn't even had a price cut going into 7 years and still selling like crazy. Ideally from business stand point you would wait till you need a price cut to move consoles, its still selling crazy good with no real sign of slowing down. so I see no reason they would wanna shoot themselves in the foot and release a powerful switch 2 for 350$ which will be probably be at loss, unless they wanna go for the playstation audience which makes sense since every company wants to find new ways to grow.

These things are planned out years in advance, it's not like they decide sometime next year "okay, let's make Switch 2 now."

The development of hardware and the software to go with it takes years, and there's no way they could have known years ago that their sales would still be strong by this point.

Probably best to make a new thread for this discussion, it's derailing the topic at hand.

You're right, I'm sorry. Stopping this discussion now.

According to many rumors they had plans to make a pro and then just canceled and honestly if I was ninetndo and wanted to launch switch I would have just delayed zelda and 2d mario for a cross gen release. it honestly doesn't make sense to release in 2024 with how well switch is doing with out even a discount. I don't  designing consoles is like thr old days and especially for switch which is has a Ton of options for chips to choose from.

Those are unproven rumors though, and even if they are true, a Pro revision of an existing system isn't the same level of commitment as a next gen successor.

Work on the next console begins basically as soon as the previous one is out, these companies plan out their strategy years in advance. Sony and Microsoft will already be deep in planning for the PS6 and Xbox 5 right now.

As for how well it's selling, DS was still selling very well when 3DS came out, same for GBA when DS came out.

They plan them out and plans can easily be changed. Let's see what happens you might right. It's gonna be very interesting. My bet is 2025 relalease date.

It depends how far the plans have progressed. It's easy to change a plan when it's still just a plan. But the further along the process you go, the harder it gets to change course. You can't just make millions of consoles overnight when you decide you're ready, for example, that takes many months, so you have to commit to that well before the release window.

2025 is possible, yes. 2024 is possible as well.

Yea i just don't see where switch 2 fits in 2024. The oled switch is on fire at 349$ and switch 2 would basically kill it and what price will the switch 2 be.

Who said anything about Switch 2 being the same price as the OLED Switch. $399.99 is an easy price to see. Then maybe Nintendo will consider a drop on the OLED model to $299.99.
