Wonder if we'll finally get the Metal Gear Solid Master Collection Vol 2 FINALLY announced lol. It's been over 2 years now. And a tease at a Metal Gear Solid 1 remake would be awesome!

I lowkey just wanna see more Marvel Tokon lol

Tokon really needs to have some chars announced to keep the hype high, it's strange it hasn't happened yet.

Definitely. Despite having a general "2026" release window, we've already had a closed beta as well as hands on for guests at EVO 2025, which leads you to believe we're relatively close to release. I imagine Spring 2026, so it is odd that we only have 8 characters announced so far.

I'm hoping that we get a new trailer tomorrow debuting at least several more characters, and an open beta announcement!

Finally finished Alan Wake 2. I think overall it's a somewhat unremarkable game.

I wanted to write my overall impressions of this game but decided against it. Essentially, it is this: the game has strong vibes and atmosphere, with some largely good graphics. Night time and lighting is a plus.

Story is so-so. It's interesting, but considering the game forces you to od a new game pluys run to unlock the final minutes of the last cutscene is just annoying.

Gameplay sucks. Combat is not that interesting. Navigation is slow, especially in the forest areas where even small changes in elevation forces the character to just stop. The Mind Place mechanic, which is very important in the game, is just straight up boring, and frankly feels added to artificially extend gameplay hours. The game would've been better without it, or at the very least a more streamlined version of what it is.

I can't say I'd reccomend it to anyone. Even as a free title on PS+ I can't say I felt it was worth my time. That said, the 2 DLC packs look really cool, so maybe those elevate the entire experience.

I dunno... I expected a better game here. But I'm glad I had a chance to experience it since I really loved Control.

Although I agree with this, I don't think this rules out timed exclusives.

Right now Sony are simply not launching single player games on PC day and date. With the Launcher they could have that day & date experience and I think a fair number of PC gamers would use the Sony launcher to play Wolverine at Launch. It's an annoyance but not something that will deter most from an entire gameplay experience they're excited for. All the meanwhile Sony has lost nothing because they otherwise wouldn't be launching it on PC until 1 year+ later anyway. Come that point in the games life it will receive a wider Steam/Epic release as seen in their current PC strategy.

Personally not sure the value of a launcher on Sonys side if people only check in for a 2 games per year, but if the cross buy feature works across many more third party games that could be a potential trojan horse for Sony for people who game on both PC & Console.

That's actually a legit thought that I never considered. It's a pretty easy conclusion to come to that a PC launcher is imminent as it's specifically cross-buy between PS5/PC.

And it would be an outright ridiculous idea to expect Valve and Epic Games to simply hand Steam and EGS keys away to PS5 users when they login to their corresponding accounts. Just makes 0 business or logical sense.

Biggest benefit of a PlayStation launcher on PC is Sony getting 100% of the revenue as there will no doubt be PC only gamers that would take advantage. But the biggest question would be, what other kind of incentives would PC users have in using a PS launcher? I was figuring maybe having PS+ on it on top of the benefits of trophies and cross-save, but day and date Sony first-party games with Steam/EGS getting ported a year or two later would be a MASSIVE incentive for PC users to use a PlayStation launcher.

Potentially next gen XB players as well if the hardware is very PC like as rumored. If SNY can get them to use the PS Launcher and PS Store for games day and date (which MS got them used to with GP), instead of waiting a year to get them on Steam, Epic, etc, then it's totally worth it for SNY.

Now your PS Plus point is something I hadn't considered. Imagine SNY being able to get not only PC, but next gen XB players signed up for Plus through the PS Launcher, while MS still won't be able to get GP on PS6.

PS1   - ! - We must build a console that can alert our enemies.

PS2  - @- We must build a console that offers online living room gaming.

PS3   - #- We must build a console that’s powerful, social, costs and does everything.

PS4   - $- We must build a console that’s affordable, charges for services, and pumps out exclusives.

PRO  -%-We must build a console that's VR ready, checkerboard upscales, and sells but a fraction of the money printer.

PS5   - ^ -We must build a console that’s a generational cross product, with RT lighting, and price hiking.

PRO  -&- We must build a console that Super Res upscales and continues the cost increases.

I don't know how many characters they plan to have day one, I'm guessing 24 min and 32 max, if so, they could announce/showcase them 4 at a time, but if they did them once a month that would keep it always fresh and create expectation for every new one they did.

Initial response was great over the reveal, but then we only had a beta and only 6 of the initial 8 were even there, so I'm guessing it might actually not make it for 2026 and that's why we are not getting new characters reveals at all up until now.

Relating to GTA I do wander whether Sony will delay or push forward Wolverine. I doubt they're keeping a November release date.

Either September/October 2026 or February 2027

Why would GTA6 delay make any difference to Wolverine? It's Wolverine... by Insomniac. The game will undoubtedly sell on name recognition alone.

The same reason Nintendo games such as Advanced Wars 1+2 Remake & Bayonetta Origins completely flopped due to releasing so close to TotK. The market of consumers for Wolverine *may* be occupied during GTAVI’s launch (though it is possible it’ll make no difference; e.g. SpiderMan & RDR2).

That said, I believe Sony having decided on a Fall 2026 release date for Wolverine is because they know internally that GTAVI is getting another delay.

they posted a tweet the day lather saying Wolverine releases on Late 2026 a subtle way to say the release date hasn't changed, Sony also made today the statement that Wolverine is their biggest game for next year with the release of their financial result for 2/4 so I think October. I don't think they are going to delay Wolverine.

Man, I'm so excited for Bloodborne II. My uncle who works at Sony told me to get ready.
