I have no problems with wars that last less than 30 minutes.  Iran and North Korea better take note of Maduro's fate. BTW, he was arrested.

The bottom line is: Don't mess with the US Army's Delta Force !

The bottom line is that Trump created a very dangerous precedent here.

Imagine Russia kidnapping Zelensky or China doing the same with Taiwan's government. Maduro may very well be an illegitimate ruler of Venezuela, but he was still the ruler of a foreign country.

Trumps action basically signaled to the dictators around the world that kidnapping foreign leaders is fair game now, so they can now do as they please.

Trump still only thinks as far ahead as the next quarter, long-term ramifications of his actions seem to never come into his mind.

Yeah, talking about China, they will have learned a nice lesson from this how to take Taiwan or at least kidnapp their leaders. It's already known that China rebuild Taiwan's government buildings and the buildings/streets around it in China to train their troops there.

Taiwan has obviously much better defense capabilities as Venezuela had (which seemed to be almost nothing at all) but Taiwan's government buildings are also very close to the sea so that Chinese troops wouldn't have to fly hundreds of miles over land so that reacting to a fast strike/raid would maybe take longer as it would take China to be already there.

Make no mistake, Venezuela will likely remain a dictatorship so the USA can grab the oil. A free country's leader would be way more reluctant in most cases to hand over resources like that.

Even worse Venezuela will most likely become a MAGA puppet state.

You might be part of the problem buddy

You are doing the namecalling tho, not any of your post has provided a form of value in this discussion.

I am fully aware my posts haven't added much to the discussion thus making me also "part of the problem", I'm not denying that, but I don't care. I have no interest in trying to have a genuine discussion with deranged lunatics who lack any human empathy and show support for causes that are, for lack of a better word, evil.

Why are you not trying to have a productive discussion with the criminal holding a gun pointed to your head after breaking into your house?

Geez, try to be a little more reasonable there, let's find a way to make the brute will be met so everyone can be happy together!

Donald Trump and his allies seem to want a Pan-American Empire. A more open and obvious empire than the USA's historical empire of tons of military bases and territories.

I think Trump wants Venezuela for the long haul, the Panama Canal (which may include the whole nation), Canada, and Greenland. He probably wants Mexico too, given his desire to bomb the cartels.

He'd let Israel have Iran and surrounding areas for a Greater Israel.

I wish another nation would kidnap Trump and rule the US until it gets an "appropriate" government, just to see what people who now approve Trump's invasion of Venezuela would say about it.

Of course, they'd feel different about it.

Because they're less driven by the idea that actions are good/bad.

And it's more about who does them. You can do whatever you want to bad guys. And good guys are allowed to do whatever they want.

The irony is calling Trump a good guy (not you).

Nah it's people adoring "Might is right" as the way to approach the world. Drooling over projecting US military power. US haven't been the good guys for a long time now. But the delusion of USA being the good cop of the world is still strong.

USA has also been losing wars forever, so a quick 30 minute smash and grab abduction can be celebrated as a 'win'. USA USA USA.

Of course this is just the beginning.

Trump already signaled Netanyahu he's ok with Israel attacking Iran again. Mossad is already prepping the stage, sowing unrest, staging protests for regime change. But Israel won't be having Iran, it's nowhere close to Israel, Iraq is still in between for example.

But yes Trump 'gave' Netanyahu the Golan heights and is fine with Israel occupying parts of Syria and Lebanon despite the ceasefire. Trump is also aware Netanyahu is turning into a loose cannon and is starting to become a liability as what happened with Saddam Hussein. Hence he's now looking to grab Venezuela's oil and likely Nigeria is next for regime change.

Did Trump Attack Nigeria For OIL?

Chevron is the main US oil company in Venezuela, also the main US oil company in Nigeria...

BB, sorry to be a jerk, but I have to.

You do realize that Russia tried to kill Zelensky at the beginning of the war back in Feb 2022?

Ever heard of the Battle of Antonov/Hostomel ?

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Battle_of_Antonov_Airport

But, then they tried again with the 40-mile long convoy. It got stopped north of Kiev in Bucha and Irpin.

And that's when the atrocities started.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Battle_of_Bucha

Luckily, Spetsnaz and the VDV are nothing compared to Delta.

Let China try the same thing in Taiwan. What has the Chinese Special Forces ever accomplished?

Delta Force has existed since 1977.  They have had their ups and downs, but this raid is their biggest success. Believe me.

First we're bombing Caracas and capturing presidents. Now Colombia is sending troops to the Venezuelan border after all the chaos down there, and just when you thought it couldn't get weirder, Trump goes on TV saying the U.S. needs Greenland for "defense" and might even go after it like it's a Black Friday sale at Costco.

Is not like anyone is going to stop him from attacking or taking these countries though. Denmark can't defend Greenland and US wants out of NATO. For Trump and MAGA US it's two birds with one stone.
