Everything which has an edit version stored will still exist in the edit table but the issue is linking it to a user, if we have no Post ID and knowledge of the user who posted it then it's like searching for a needle in a haystack. Wayback Machine stores a lot of URLs but again, you'd need to remember the URL.

I mean does a user or any users/admins have the ability to completely delete a thread? To the point where we can no longer find it?

Some admins do. If a thread is locked, it can still be linked to a user even though it disappears from searches/front page. Admins can nuke it though.

I'm sure Bandorr/Trucks/Talon could if they wanted to since they have access to the backend.

As for the rest of us, nope.

That depends on what you mean by "completely delete". A thread can be locked/hidden from the average user yes.  But if you bookmark it or have the URL you can typically go to it.

And then there is the "completely delete" aspect of it. If you mean actually remove it from the site. So even if you have the URL it doesn't exist - then that is possible. Someone with database access would have to actually go into the database and remove the data from the tables themself.

That is limited to a very few amount of people, and requires actual effort of tracking down the info in all the tables and removing them while also hoping it doesn't break the website because of things relate to other things.

So if you have a specific thing in mind I can take a look for it because I can of no reason to actually ever do that.  Why remove something when you can just edit it?

Thanks for all the feedback. There have been a number of threads that when I click on them they navigate to the home page. Will try and gather some examples and send it through.

1. Have you already posted in them before?

2. Are they new threads or do they predate the deletion?

Since the deletion, a few threads will bug out when trying to open them, I believe due to having comments erased and so it sort of screws up in trying to figure out where your last view was and boots you back.

IIRC one fix is to enter the thread via one of the numbers (1) then jump to the end.

I had to spam a few posts in others to correct their post count.

So just post them here and I'll see what we can do.

Can you sign in on your work PC - or are you already signed in?

If the username/e-mail works one place but not another it may be associated with another problem we are working on right now.

Find another browser or PC that you haven't logged in and try to log in.

Is something wrong with this thread? For some reason it does not load properly for me and whenever I try to open it it temporarily breaks the site and makes it so none of the other threads can load for a bit. https://gamrconnect.vgchartz.com/thread/247348/ps5-ships-384-million-units-as-of-march-2023-sets-video-game-record-for-march-quarter/1/

I loaded it without issue just now.  There is a VGsetting for how many "posts" can be in a single page.  What is yours at?

Could be a problem on one of the posts that isn't in the first page.

I opened all 6.  So try these see if a different page works?

It's at 10 and for some reason it's suddenly working for me now. JRPGfan's post would not load properly causing the issue but now it is so I'm confused what was going on but at least it seems fine now.
