Forums - Sales Discussion - Black Friday Sales - Worldwide Hardware Estimates for Nov 20-26

great sales for all but the sales of the ps5 disappointed me a little considering the stock that sony had of 3.2 million. I think December will be a much better month for the ps5

It's better to wait for official shipments from Sony, or NPD results, before coming to any conclusions. The PS5 could very well be undertracked in NA, similar to August + September, as well as regions like RoTW & China getting much improved supply similar to Japan.

Press F in chat for all of the people who said that Kinect would allow 360 to catapult past Xbox Series on the launch aligned comparison chart. Xbox Series just beat 2 different Kinect boosted Black Friday weeks for 360, 2010 and 2012. It fell just 164k~ units short of Black Friday week 2011 meanwhile, which was boosted not only by Kinect, but also by 2 great Holiday bundles for 360, Xbox marketing on Skyrim and CoD MW3, and Halo CE Anniversary as an exclusive. Meanwhile, Xbox Black Friday week 2022 had no big Xbox exclusive, no big 3rd party marketing rights, no Series X discount or bundle, only a meh cosmetics/microtransaction currency Series S bundle going for $50 off. If Xbox Series can beat the kinect boost now, what makes you think it can't beat the kinect boost later on when Xbox has better stock, better discounts, and big exclusives dropping all over the place?

Yea I still don’t know what Sony is doing with that 3.2M stockpile. I also assume they kept stockpiling in October so it should have been more like 4M. Assuming the same weekly rate of production as last quarter they shouldn’t have any issues meeting most of the demand, but it certainly looks like they are starving Europe of consoles.

Well, living in Sweden I guess supply has been better than usual over the last few weeks, but it’s still more out of stock than not (at normal price).

very difficult to predict. Nintendo had the release of pokemon scarlet, sony had the release of ragnarok and call of duty a few weeks before what helps sales mainly in the USA , In addition to the 3.2 million in stock. xbox had a price cut for black friday which helped boost sales. my prediction is switch number, ps5 number 2 and xbox number 3

Selling in the US is more profitable I think so they won't focus on the European market until they fully met the demand in the US market. Unless the euro gets much stronger again, like the 1 euro is 1.15 dollar or something.

Please excuse my (probally) poor grammar

Switch is coming for 130-135 by march , i fear

Yeah, I totally get why they focus on the US first as they already have Europe in the bag so to speak, same with Japan. It just seems like they should have enough stock by now to satisfy all markets.

I will eat crow as someone who truly loves the Switch. When it launched I thought it would top at 70 million. A couple years ago thought it would settle at PS4 numbers. Now I don't know but keep selling little mighty box!

70m would put you in the more optimistic camp compared to others back then, your prediction was more likely due to Nintendo having a monopoly on one side of the market but considering the extremely low predictions people were putting out back then 70m is actually a reasonable prediction.
