Forums - Gaming - Discussion Thread – The 13th Annual Greatest Games Event

I'll give #48 until tomorrow, and post it together with #47 which had already been guessed previously. Still, I'll a fourth hint, and add two further games.

48 - Whack people with weapons such as barbells, arcade cabinets and tuna fish.
Hint 2: But there's also guns to be found. Not stuff that should've been on a cruise ship.
Hint 3: To be honest though, those weren't have been on the ship if the pirates and their one-eyed captain didn't bring them on board.
Hint 4: Those pirates are there to kidnap the 'President's' daughter.

44 - About halfway through this game there's a racing level where you have to reach a well-known hero before the villains do, which is silly because in canon this hero is one of the most powerful people in the galaxy.
Hint 2: Surely, this master should be able to take on a handful of 'biker' thugs, but anyway, chase scene it is.

43 - This game features a couple minor vehicles, which you'll use in a supporting role next to the primary vehicles, which are sometimes based off cars and vans from real-life TV shows.

42 - Primary colours.

Another round of hints:

#50: You are PTMC's best Material Defender!
Blow up asteroids!
But better search your escape way before you trigger self destruction.
Shoot the robots before they do it with you.
You fly in your spaceship through the mining tunnels.

I should've got this one sooner - I have fond memories of playing it when I was very young. Descent.

Yes, you should've gotten this one sooner :)

And correct, it is Descent.

Now I have no excuse. I have to come off my ass and write up text for the game and create the table in the official post. *sigh*

Pokémon Red, Blue and Yellow?

Yes! The Blue Version to be exact. One of my biggest, though relatively short-lived, addictions ever.

OKay, problems:

1) What are considered the ideal banner dimensions? This above was like 1600 X 740 I think.

2) More importantly, I'm having to make a second post for these queries because it seems I can't scroll below the image once I post it. That obviously defeats the whole purpose of it being a banner. How do I resolve that??

It's not THAT big a deal if I can't figure out how to do banners here, I just think they look nice when other people use them.

Seems it filled out the post from left to right nicely even with that size.

From my experience; I made mine 1920x400 (figured I'd do an "HD resolution", if that matters, with the height being arbitrary), but then when I post them I let the site resize it to 1000x*** in the "Insert/Edit Image" popup, because that size seems to suit the width of a post in the forum after I submit. I'm actually not really sure what the actual width should ideally be, or that it matters at all because I think the site does automatically resize things that are too big (read; too wide). But one of the admins can correct me on that. I don't have your second problem because of the small height of my banners, but I assume, like with a wall of text, that you should still be able to scroll down regardless. If that doesn't work though for some reason, maybe using the arrow keys on your keyboard does?

Okay, that worked on being able to scroll below it! And thanks for the sizing advice too. I'm definitely saving your post for future reference. Appreciate the help!

With the web developer tools you can see how it is resized. It is resized to fit the width of the posting area if it is bigger. The width may depend on viewing setup, for me the image is resized to 972×449.55
