Lessons learned from Amber Heard = a resounding ZERO!

What's the correlation here?
People inistially presumed she was correct because physical domestic abuse is more commonly observed with women.

Hellena Taylor's claim did not seem to have anything to do with a problem inherant with women, but with voice actors in general often being underpaid.

If Nolan North had gone out with the same statement, there would have been just as much noise around it, if not more. I'd wager a lot more in fact, because he's a bigger star.

doubtful as nolan isn't a minority

Probably because specialist always gets paid better than your average wage.  This is pretty much standard especially in contracting work.  You are paying for the expertise of the person and their ability to produce a high end product or service.  I have worked a number of consulting jobs and you are always paid at a much higher wage then the employees working at the company.  If you do not understand the business I believe you should do some research on the subject instead of just believing that what you believe is fare is how the industry works.

I will say that depending on the work you do usually depends on the hourly wage.  There have been a number of situations I was only paid 70 bucks an hour and for the same job I was paid 450.  Each situation was represented on how important my work was to the specific project.

The main issue I see here is the flat rate.  It speaks volumes that something was not right.  Anytime a client is trying to get you to sign a flat rate especially if its low means its going to be a nightmare project.

Well please explain to me why Helena deserves more than your average VA then?

Why would I need to explain something I never made a case about. None of us know if 4K flat fee for the work she will need to do is actually acceptable based on the character she portrays and the amount of work she will need to do to do for the job.  Context is very key in my statement as I stated, getting offered a flat fee for this work is suspect.  Majority of contractors shy away from flat fee jobs because unless the flat fee is way above what the work would require then you feel its worth the risk just in case the project goes south and most times all projects go south.  Flat fee contracts mean if they add additional work or you take additional days you do not get compensated and you could end up losing a lot of money in the process.

Also, I am arguing your claim what is a reasonable wage for a VA since you nor I really have a clue what that is.  Just because you believe 250/hr is a lot does not mean for this type of work that it is.  I am sure with any contract work there are plenty of variables that comes into play who get top money and who do not.

People initially presumed Amber was correct because physical domestic abuse is more commonly observed with women.
So the lesson from that would be to not make presumptions on that subject based on gender.

Hellena Taylor did not seem to insinuate a problem more common to women, but with voice actors in general often being underpaid. Which is known to be true for both men and women who do voice acting.
She even attacked her replacement, Jennifer Hale, in one of those videos.

If Nolan North had gone out with the same statement, there would have been just as much noise around it. I'd wager a lot more even, because he has a much bigger following.

I guess the lesson is don't blindly trust in someone's claim without solid proof and/or before the case have been fully investigated and judged. Nothing to do with gender.

Not gonna happen. People love to talk drama.

That is true. I do accept some discussion on merit, speculation, and trying to figure out. But bashing someone, claim crimes, etc is too much for me.

This is a bloody mess if I were to use the words from Bayonetta, and I can only hope for Hellena Taylor to get some mental support. And obviously she is going to get some hate now, she was already suicidal before, idk if she can handle this man. But nobody cares for Hideki Kamiya right, imagine how he must have felt if this is true and so many raging replies towards him. It's the same with Bayonetta 2 like I explained before. Twitter and ppl in general gotta stop being so emotional and rashful. And this isn't official, remember Platinum still hasn't responded as far as I know.

While I didn't comment on this matter before, to be fair to some of the people who did, it is a bit hard to imagine someone would break NDA only to lie about something that can easily be disproven if Platinum/Nintendo publicize the receipts.

But judging by some things I've heard about her, she may not be the sharpest tool in the shed, and questions surrounding her financial situation suggests she may have been desperate and irrational.

Very speculative. But perhaps she was really banking on that Bayonetta 3 money, because aside from a few lines for Smash, she apparently hasnt been hired for voice acting since 2014, and for that reason tried to negotiate a salary higher than reasonable. Perhaps she thought if she pushed negotiations too far, she could always just accept the last offer they made.
But they then instead hired a different voice actor, which drastically affected that financial income she may have been desperately counting on.

It may have been worse if Nolan North did it for the exact same reasons you gave, people love their bigger celebrities as I mentioned in an earlier post. But I think being a female crying in front of the camera makes it easier for some to sympathize with her regardless of her intentions.

A lot of people would argue that women are discriminated against everywhere and not just inside the house or in relationships, and they would be correct because misogyny like racism is very common. Being a female and an actor each provide a layer of immunity within certain vocal communities. Obviously, the bigger reason is their status as an actor.

This is the best publicity Bayonetta 3 could ever get. Huge reach and redeemed quickly. Now if only the game gets great reviews, this might be a little success.
