Forums - Gaming Discussion - Cyberpunk 2077 is having quite a comeback

I guess I'm the outlier not liking the anime all that much. It keeps putting me to sleep and I wake up to the "are you still watching" screen, then have to go back a bunch of episodes lol. It looks really good, the music is great, but it all style over substance imo. I'm just not getting into it. (I'm spoiled by the imagination and world building by the likes of Stephen Baxter and Peter F Hamilton, very high bar to reach) Anyway, I think I'm on episode 6 or thereabouts, maybe it will start going somewhere at some point.

As for the game, the anime has further reduced my interest in giving it a try. Maybe next year when there's a 'goty' edition with the expansion.

When I take the plunge on a PS5, I will probably pick it up. I wanted to get CP2077 on PS4, but the awful reviews deterred me.

Its always on sale, bought it for 25 euros and it gave me 170 hours of play time xD

The show is definitely giving it a boost. Just like what happened with The Witcher.

I may play it eventually on PS5. I'm not a huge RPG player.

Please Watch/Share this video so it gets shown in Hollywood.

Cyberpunk 2077 has always been a great game despite the bugs. It makes sense that if people can't look past the bugs, that when they get fixed, people would really enjoy the game.

For me the bugs were much better than the likes of Fallout or Skyrim, but those games are beloved nowadays since most of the bugs were reduced. I think this game just had way too much hype, if the hype was low key like with Witcher 3, then people would be rating it as one of the best games of all time.

Well the big difference is that The Witcher 3 was completely playable, minus some noticeable bugs that didn't really hamper the experience, at launch whereas CP2077, at least on consoles, was a complete mess. It's not every day a platform holder ceases selling the hottest game on the market and refunds every purchase no questions asked.

Not to mention The Witcher 3 had two expansions, one of which was big enough to be its own game, by the time the game turned one year old. Whereas CP2077 will finally get it's one and only expansion well over two years after it launched. If not closer to three years since right now we only have a release window of 2023.

I agree though that CP2077 just had waaaaaaay too much hype. But that for the most part is on CD Projekt for flaming it. But I'm really looking forward to Phantom Liberty releasing and seeing if CD Projekt learned its lessons, and Cyberpunk will continue to be a huge IP going forward! The anime is definitely playing a huge part in the resurgence of the game!

Got it day 1, didn't really get into it that much. Only 18 hours played according to Steam. I'll probably give it another go one day, just busy with other games at the moment and it doesn't really appeal to me enough to get a higher place on my to do list.

The atmosphere of the city is probably the best of any open world game.certainly feels better than what they did with gta5 . Hopefully if I get a chance and up 2 date with games I want to finish, I'd love to go back in and just walk and explore the city further. Played on ps5.

If the PS5 I ordered happens to arrive in my lifetime, I might get into this. I am yet untarnished for not having tried it in its early state.

As a person who played it on PC it was such a great game and the updates made it even better. I started playing it again in Vr using the R.E.A.L VR mod and WOW!, its like this game was made for VR its just such an experience to be walking around the city etc in VR i wish everyone could try it. And yes the anime is so good i love it.
