It’ll sell 6mil+ sure. I hope 10mil but I’ll say 7.5mil for now

Bonus: love the game, I’m a bit biased to Kirby games but I don’t think it’s a 10. For the first attempt at 3D they nailed it, and I feel like so much more can be done for a sequel! I give it a 9/10

I don't think Star Allies is a useful benchmark for sales to be honest; that game generated nowhere near as much hype or attention, and was less positively received. Forgotten Land will outsell it easily.

I voted 7+, but regarding this "Switch effect," at some point it is going to wear off. At some point the amount of people activity playing their Switches is going to decrease and that trend will continue until the system dies. You could release literally the greatest game of all time at year 7 on any device and it will sell far less than if you released it at year 3. People get bored with tech and want something new, not just software, but the actual hardware and its limitations. Kirby would have sold better had it released at year 3. So while I think it will sell 7+ million now, I think it could have sold millions more had it released in 2020.

I agree with this point overall, however I also think the relevant time period is longer than you think it is.  Consider this:

1) Switch software sales are still up YoY for ever fiscal year.  Nintendo's report for this latest fiscal year will release in a month, and I highly suspect it will be up YoY again.  Software sales have not yet peaked, so Kirby is releasing at a very good time.
2) Elden Ring released 8+ years after the PS4 launched.  The PS4 SKU is selling very well.
3) Switch will be a relevant gaming device even longer than the PS4 will be a relevant gaming device.

Maybe in Japan where people have weird gaming habits

But in UK for example only 9% of the game sales were from PS4 compared to 32% of PS5. And that's with PS4 userbase in UK being quite few times bigger than PS5

6-7m. I definitely see it becoming the best selling game of the series, dunno about much beyond that.

Pretty good game, is like a Return to Dreamland style game but in 3D, I wouldn't say it reaches the highest highs of those games, but is still a pretty good Kirby game, only big issues is the lack of abilities, and the fact that they nerfed their move sets, upgrading abilities doesn't cut it either, specially considering that the idea of upgrades are nothing new to the series. Also a low variety of sub bosses, that also comes from the fact that we don't have that many abilities. If that doesn't get fixed in a sequel, I much rather just get more 2D games that can also do the job and detail that FL does with the environments and the like, which again, has been done before as well.

As far as the bonus question goes, I haven't finished it yet, but I am up to the final world and unless the wheels completely fall off in the home stretch, this is a fantastic game.

The side objectives, upgradeable powers, and Mouthful mode give the game an awesome amount of variety, it's packed full of cool ideas, the level design is beautifully elegant, the presentation is lovely, and the whole thing just has such a cosy, creative, and positive vibe that make it the perfect escape from the stresses of the real world.

I think it will settle around 4-5 million personally.

I think it will just reach 7 million, which will make it the best selling Kirby game by far.

I'll go with 7-8 million.

The Switch effect will, of course, help a lot, and this game has received a lot more attention than previous ones (Nintendo's marketing for it has been on point), with very positive word of mouth.
