Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Happy 5th Birthday Switch! (Your Top Fives)

What year did you get your Switch?

Year one 42 77.78%

Year two 4 7.41%

Year three 0 0%

Year four 3 5.56%

Year five 2 3.70%

Don’t have one 3 5.56%

Total:54

A TOP 5 seems very unfair to the system's absolutely stellar catalogue, specially as far as my personal prefferences is concearned. I can't do anything less than a TOP 10 and even I feel bad for some of the games I have to leave out.

1. The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild
2. Hollow Knight
3. NEO: The World Ends With You
4. Metroid Dread
5. Dragon Quest XI: S
6. Xenoblade Chronicles 2 (Feat Torna)
7. Astral Chain
8. Taiko no Tatsujin: Drum n' Fun
9. Pokémon Legends Arceus
10. DOOM (2016)

Top 5 Switch games:
1. Breath of the Wild
2. Metroid Dread
3. Xenoblade Chronicles 2
4. Fire Emblem Three Houses
5. Super Smash Bros: Ultimate

If I could include a sixth then Pokemon Legends: Arceus and Monster Hunter Rise would've tied

I got my Switch a month after the systems launch. I actually had BotW before I had the system xD

But here's my personal top 5:

1) Breath of the Wild
2) DKC Tropical Freeze
3) Luigi's Mansion 3
4) Mario + Rabbids: Kingdom Battle
5) Link's Awakening

Same here and also had Odyssey :D

I think I've done that with 2-3 different systems (getting games for it before the actual console).

2024 OpenCritic Prediction Leagues:

Nintendo | PlayStation | Multiplat

I got my Switch one year and one week after launch, so year 2.

My top 5 Switch games:

1. The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild
2. Astral Chain
3. Ys VIII: Lacrimosa of Dana
4. Metroid Dread
5. Ori and the Will of the Wisps

If I counted games that are part of a collection then Super Mario Sunshine would've been at #3.

I have more games on my Switch than on any other console I own and a big part of my favorite games are on the Switch. It's versatility completely changed my playing habits.
It's amazing, it's detractors (joy-con drift mainly) never could take away from how much I love this console for it's innovation and it's games.

Going to exclude WiiU ports...

1) Links Awakening.
2) Metroid Dread.
3) Paper Mario.
4) Astral Chain.
5) Mario Oddysey.

4. Super Mario Odyssey
5. Super Mario 3D World + Bowser's Fury
6. Celeste
7. Metroid Dread
8. Super Smash Bros. Ultimate
9. Octopath Traveler
10. Link's Awakening

1. Bread
2. Fire Emblem TH
3. DOOM Eternal
4. Ys VIII
5. DOOM 2016

My bet with The_Liquid_Laser: I think the Switch won't surpass the PS2 as the best selling system of all time. If it does, I'll play a game of a list that The_Liquid_Laser will provide, I will have to play it for 50 hours or complete it, whatever comes first.

We've had the Switch since 2019. In that time I've played a total of three games on the system, so a top 5 isn't happening, but here are those three games in order I guess.

1. Breath of the Wild
2. Super Mario Odyssey
3. Luigi's Mansion 3

I do have Fire Emblem: Three Houses waiting on the shelf, but not sure when I'll get around to it.
