A quick little article on Russia’s mobilization plans for this year and next:

Russia is going to mobilize 300k troops this year, and another 300k next year. Wow, that’s quite a large number.

Almost certainly wishful thinking, but I'm really hoping Putin pulls off a repeat of the WWI outcome in Russia.

There’s a chance of something major like that happening, because putin is in between a rock and a hard place like we say over in the USA. He can’t just give up or he’ll have a ton of disaffected vets that might start a revolution on his ass, and so he must keep fighting even to the point of destroying Russia. Another possibility is that he’ll be assassinated or just die bc of health. But either way it’s probably going to be a lot bigger than just Russia giving up. 

Well, considering their current loss rate of over 1000 soldiers per day, mobilizing 300k wouldn't even be enough to cover the losses of a year.

Also, the public is turning more and more against Putin, who promised that ordinary Russians wouldn't be affected by the Invasion Special Military Operation. But now with daily drone strikes on the Russian energy infrastructure and Zelensky blowing a raspberry, erm, blowing up Wildberry's, now pretty much every single Russian is affected by it in some way or another unless maybe they're living in the sparsely populated far east of Russia. If a mobilization doesn't provide immediate results, it might be the end of the presidency for Putin, and he won't be able to call another round of mobilization.

And he should then better keep away from any open windows...

I know Russia is in a tough spot, and I'm sure many will attribute that to Putin himself (for good reason too). I'm also equally sure that Putin is well familiar with history and has accounted for it to the best of his ability.

Most likely nothing dramatic is going to happen unless one side runs out of money/support/men. Russia probably isn't running out soon, although the situation is getting more difficult - but all signs point to Russia just keeping at it, so they can probably afford it for a good while more. Russia is also probably quite stable, but the risk of something significant happening internally is there, and it will only keep increasing as the situation gets more difficult for Russia. But most likely we won't know of it until it's happening, or possibly only until it has already happened.

I know this is a boring answer, but I'm sure most that are not on the frontlines would describe the situation as fairly boring.
