MS now has the all the CoD studios and several from Bethesda. They can now get rid of 343. its time to make a AAA Halo game every year. They have enough studios to put each Halo project in a 5 year development cycle.

Discuss.

Ah yes oversaturation and franchise fatigue.

CoD is more like a sports series with the same audience coming back. Broader appeal. Halo is more specific and like any console maker's mascot. Those are more reserved for every couple to few years to make a better quality product and not saturate it too much. Cod is more like Madden at this point. Halo would just die this way. I'd argue it got too much in the 360 and early XBO era as sales went down and spinoffs kept coming out then soon in the bargain bin shelf. Halo isn't CoD and doesn't need to be.

Bite my shiny metal cockpit!

Not every year but I agree that Xbox One gen had too few Halo games.
One more mainline game would've been great and maybe one more RTS, RPG or at least a shooter spin off comparable to ODST.

I agree with getting rid of 343 but no thanks with yearly Halo...

343 finally gets it right with Halo Infinite...I want to see them expand on that so pump the breaks on shutting them down.

I would rather MS expand their gaming landscape for gamepass with these new studios. The the most successful CoD dev keep making CoD, DO NOT release it yearly, and have the other CoD devs work on new projects or revive dormant IPs. Gamepass needs diversity and consistency...not the strategy that stagnated CoD to begin with.

Well not each game would play the same like CoD.

Each year would be unique experience. By that I mean one year is basically CoD with the Halo IP. That would include Halo: Warzone. The next year its Doom with the Halo IP. The next year would be an open world RPG developed by Blizzard.

Same IP, unique experiences. That's how you print money.

No.

However Infinite will probably get a massive single player expansion in 2023.

Na, no thanks.

Maybe every other year or some kind of expansion added to infinite... But a full game? I'd tire after a couple of years I think. Even for halo.
