I am surprised Switch takes another L vs 2020, with the Pokemon and OLED this year vs Age of Calamity.

PS sales also disastrous, Stock probably won't come until late 2021, early 2022.

Overall a down year so far this holiday quarter.

How are you surprised Nintendo already adjusted their numbers down for the year and stated why. It isn't because there is not a demand, it's because of chip shortages. Can't sell what you can't make.

As me an Rol already discussed. The impact should be miniscule if not nonexistent for the holiday quarter.

Here I will link you his post so I don't have to type it all out.

3% difference, if that.

3DS outsold PS4 this week.

Wait, really? That is crazy. PS4 launched three years later than 3DS in Japan. It overtook the handheld, but I guess Nintendo consoles after all have better legs than Sony ones, right?

No. PS4 has had no stock from Sony since the beginning of this year. They're moving over everyone to PS5 ASAP but the chip shortages has clearly limited the speed at which they can do that.

Disappointing numbers for SMTV, although inline with prior entries, thought the Persona boost and being on SW would result in a breaking of the mold. Interesting to see how the rumoured PS4 port will do.

The usual reason why Nintendo consoles have a shorter lifespan is exactly the same: usually Nintendo cuts them short by discontinuing production shortly after the release of the next gen. So the unusual part is, that Nintendo keeps selling 3DS, while this time Sony decides to cut production short in favor of next gen.

Animal Crossing inching closer to 7 million physically, a holiday bump might get it there by the end of the year.

7 million for physical alone is just a crazy number.  Does anyone know how much AC is up to with digital added in?

Over 9.5mil.

The 3DS units that are being sold now have been shipped over a year ago. Nintendo isn't selling them themselves.

Well, they must've produced them at one point.

It won't do great, I highly doubt it will ever release

Should fare pretty well considering Atlus has a pretty big fanbase on PS, especially coming after their biggest hit yet with the Persona 5 family.

Smt5 sold pretty well worldwide from what I heard
The people, not necessarily here, who think the game suffered in sales because its a switch game are being a little silly
