Pokemon starts strong; Switch HW up from last week but still short of last year YoY; Series X restock brings overall XBS up again; PS5 down again, still not getting nearly enough stock

Pokemon has had a great first week in Japan. I don't think it'll be higher than SW/SH FW elsewhere but in Japan it's made it. Though it's legs won't be as strong as SW/SH I'm sure.

Great sales for Switch this week, but yeah even with Pokemon couldn't beat last year. XBS even closer to PS5, Sony desperately needs more stock in Japan lol.

XSX almost outselling the PS5 in japan is crazy. Switch didnt even surpass last year with a pokemon game.

Well done for gen 4. Hopefully they do put more effort for gen 5 remakes.

Bad week for Playstation hardware for sure. I'm surprised there's still some new 3DS to be found since they stopped producing them a long time ago. Switch OLED seems to still be selling according to supply.

Not surprised at the low PS5 stock at all. The chip shortage is one thing but Sony is likely shipping everything over to US/Europe for Black Friday sales this week.

Yep 17th September 2020 is when 3ds production was confirmed to have ended. So somehow over a year later there's apparently still thousands of brand new 3ds units available.

You would have thought they would have all been flogged by shops at discount rates ages ago.

Strangely enough apparently every single model sold is the 2DS XL too.

Hardware is stock limited all around. I mean, PS5 Digital Edition is practically invisible. Switch sells less than last year, even with a Pokemon release. At least it is better than last week.

To have relation for Software: does anyone have historical numbers for Pokemon remakes and Battlefield?

my greatest games: 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021, 2022, 2023

10 years greatest game event!

bets: [peak year] [+], [1], [2], [3], [4]

If xbox sells more next week than playstation, will hell freeze over too?

Looks like ORAS sold 1.5 M. first three days

HGSS sold 1.5 M. first two days

FRLG sold 885 thousand first week.

The numbers are for Japan.

So it's probably safe to assume that with digital BDSP matched or sold more than ORAS and HGSS.
