When it comes to Halo, all I got to say is yikes. 4-5 months til launch, on a game delayed for 7 months now, yet we only see in-engine cutscenes for the campaign? How do they not have at a few levels ready to show gameplay at this point? Are they even working to improve the levels or are they just remaking the cutscenes in-engine (pretty sure they were in-game last time) so they look better in ads? And finally, how is Xbox so poorly mismanaged? Their only franchise that seems to constantly be on top of things is Forza. Yeesh.

I would rather them not force out a demo that takes away from the development of an already delayed game. They will show off the single player in next few months when they're ready. We saw gameplay yesterday for the multiplayer so if you're curious about how the single player will look and feel, there you go.

So because Halo has had some development issues, every Xbox studio is mismanaged? Flight Sim, Psychonauts 2, Age of Empires 4, FH5 are all quality games and releasing this year, and I'm sure Halo Infinite will great.

This is supposed to be a big gaming event, and definitely one where you would want to show how much the game has improved after the big backlash they got last time. Instead we got an in-engine cutscene. You may also want to rewatch that multiplayer "gameplay" vid. It too said it was all in-engine. Not even in-game, and definitely not actual gameplay. So yea, I'm definitely going to call mismanagement when this is supposed to be their biggest franchise, it's already been delayed by 7 months, and we still have yet to see actual new gameplay running on an Xbox. And yet, it's supposed to launch in 4-5 months?

And your list doesn't even make sense. Flight Sim was developed by a 3rd party, not an Xbox studio. Same goes for AoE4. Wonder why. Psychonauts 2 was well into development before MS bought the studio, hence the PS4 version. I also said Forza was the only one that seemed to be on top of their stuff.

Flight Simulator has always been a Microsoft IP the first game was released in November of 1982 that is long time before Sony even tried thinking about getting into video games and even before the NES was released in Japan.

I watched the show. Looking at the list of games announced and talked about, you'd think I'd have been excited, but I wasn't and I wonder if it is because some part of my brain was aware that I wasn't seeing much of games, but was rather hearing about them.

This is the most profound thing I've ever read on a gaming forum.

You think them showing the players vs players was cutscenes? Give me a break. How about watch the multiplayer overview that released today. It looks exactly the same and has gameplay. Halo Infinite | Multiplayer Overview - YouTube

You said, MS poorly manages their franchises besides Forza. Is Age of Empires and Flight Sim not their franchises? MS still has to work with these 3rd party developers just like if they were 1st party because it is their IP's afterall. Psychonauts 2 was delayed so they could add more content to the game and keep polishing it, now we are going to be getting a better game because of it. I would say that was a good call my MS management.

Lol, what does that have to do with that conversation? No one said the IP wasn't owned by MS. The point was both that game and AoE4 were farmed out to 3rd parties, not by developed internal studios, since smroadkill15 tried to use those games to argue their internal studios we're not mismanaged.

In the actual E3 video, yes it was. That's why MS themselves labeled it as in-game. It's a little smoother and more polished than the vid you linked. Which is probably why they used it.

I said Xbox, as in it's studios are mismanaged. Why are these games being farmed out? Why aren't Xbox's internal studios handlling them? Even before the aquisition of Bethesda, they had just as many as Sony.  Yet, those games and something like Killer Instinct on the XBO was developed by 3rd parties.

what kind of shitty reasoning is this? having more IPs vs studios is mismanagement? LMAO

Is this sarcasm or are you being real?

The outer world 2 is a parody of MS recent conferences; especially the 2020 conference. They went as far as showing a concept of a game that hasn't been developed yet (everwild); a CGI fest isn't a good show.

This is an E3 showcase, If anything people have been complaining that gameplay trailer at E3 are too long. They can have deep dive on specific game after the showcase. Just like they are doing for Halo Infinite - Multiplayer today.

Microsoft did an amazing job showing the roadmap of games coming in 2021 and early 2022. While still having a few surprise of the future road map to get people excited for beyond. Starfield, Outerworlds 2, ContraBand and Redfall are some of the games that have Xbox fan most excited about the future roadmap and you would have them remove them from the showcase.

This was an amazing conference that was very well received, with your advice this would of been a very subpar conference.

You must of missed out on the true message of Xbox's E3 2021: the value proposition of Gamepass and the breath of game coming to the subscription service.

I've never heard the complaint of gameplay trailers being too long in conference. The number one complaint has always been that what we see at conferences is not representative of the final game. Whether its too many CGI trailers or misleading "in game" gameplay trailers.

Also I think its safe to say that most gamers generally prefer an actual gameplay demo instead of CGI...

Please, some of the biggest reaction in the past E3 were logo of FFVII Remake, God of Wars 2, Metroid 4 and Fable 4.

I think most people would like a smaller slice of game trailers either it was CGI, Gameplay or Demo; especially, if it's a game they have zero interest of playing. Seem like you guys are making the argument that you would rather see nothing or get zero announcement unless it's a gameplay demo. Which is just wrong. I think extended gameplay demo are only really important for making buying decision. Especially if the game is going to cost $70.
