Forums - Sales Discussion - Famitsu sales: Week 19, 2021 - (May 3 - May 9)

A 5% physical attach ratio is pretty big for a PS5/PS4 game, should lower in time.

Looks like Golden Week depleted Switch stock, predictably.

Xbox Series rises above the zombie 3DS this week.

I really thought RE was bigger than this in Japan, though that could be down to it releasing on a system that's yet to establish itself and another that's on its deathbed.

RE has been losing popularity in Japan for a few years now. Afaik the last game to cross the million mark was RE6, since then nothing has even come close.

The 300K shipments would strictly be physical copies, but with a 50% digital split, that puts RE8 sold around 300K combined on the PS4/5. Could be a bit more but it falls in line with Sony's digital cut. Potentially the third PS5 game to reach 100K+ sold in Japan.

PS5 game finally makes it into the Top 50 for the year, as Resident Evil: Village & Nier Replicant are able to get the PlayStation ecosystem to close to 5% market share for the first time this year.

Pokemon Snap is the other major title launched and it seems it won't have trouble outselling the original game, with a good hold in its second week.

The next major game launching is Rune Factory 5 for Marvelous which should allow them to get ahead of Square ahead of the Final Fantasy Vii Remake Intergrade launch.

You finally got proof that digital is not high. 150k retail with 40-60% sell thru means of a total shipment of 250k minimum. So at most digital is 50k. At MOST.

Super Mario Party had a 147% increase in week 18. Never saw something like that before.

How are you guys deducing the sell through figure?

Famitsu also shares sellthrough.
