That document is so funny. It’s true to some people who want to support their narrative only. It was true to some people because they thought Sony forced parity of the game which we now know is false because of the comparisons from DF. But now it still has to be confirmed fake? A document like that doesn’t have to be proved false, it has to be proved true and there was nothing to say that the doc was legit or modded in the first place.

Dusk Golem? LOL The guy who admitted to lying about PS5 RE8 performance struggling and had issues at 1080p because he thought Xbox news that week was too negative. That guy is now a fucking joke and has no credibility when it comes to Playstation skus or news. The 2 skus of this game are near identical but there is a 10% difference in fps with ray tracing during the lake scene area. That’s it. If Dusk Golem says anything in the future about how a Capcom game is running on Playstation hardware no one will believe that fraud ever again.

I guess wishing enough or being negative to Sony makes it confirmed true.

Azzanation: "PS5 wouldn't sold out at launch without scalpers."

Theres nothing in that document which reads as bizzare and its more or less what anyone should expect. MS has the same "parity" clause in their 3rd party agreement, so that's real regardless. Shouldn't be seen a pro vs anti-Sony thing. That's just how some people frame it.

Wasn't that clause about RE8 more about having first dibs when it comes to putting it on a service?

OT: I'm surprised with that RE6 opening. I thought it did a lot worse lol. I remember a lot of negativity around that game, it even had a 74 on Metacritic, which is historically low for the RE series.

Too many simps out there it seems

It overshipped due to sky high expectations by Capcom after the success of Res 5, it ended up with only a partial sellthrough due to the negative reviews. It shipped 4.5m first week, but took a full year to hit 5.2m sellthrough to consumers. However, in spite of the issues, it ended up with a pretty sizeable cult fanbase which resulted in strong late life legs, it has now sold 7.7m on PS3/360/PS3, making it the 4th bestselling Resident Evil game on original platforms, and an additional 2.3m on the XB1/PS4 ports, which is more than the the PS4/XB1 ports for Res 5 and Res 4 actually.

Ah, that makes sense, I mixed up shipped and sold.

It is an awkward time to launch a game, so I am surprised it did pretty well.

Not really, half the world is still in lock down, nothing else to do.

The sales mix is interesting though, clearly PS4 owners have stopped buying games as they're waiting for a PS5 or just tired of their system. PS5 owners despite how hungry they are, are still a tiny userbase. So I guess that is the awkwardness being referred to. For now the eagerness of PS5 owners is compensating well enough. PC sales are probably a disproportionately high % of digital sales as a result.

I'm part of the crowd waiting to get a ps5. I'm out of disk space on my ps4 pro! Actually with RE8 I'll wait for a PSVR 2 version. PSVR got me back into resident evil, yet also made it pointless to play these kind of games without VR. It's about as immersive and scary as Tetris on a flat screen. FS2020 keeps me busy nowadays, 15% of airports visited so far (5600 out of 38000)

Its nice to know that this will have a relatively easy VR conversion graphically speaking. Turn ray tracying off and you've already got an 4k, 80-90fps PS5 experience without any real optimization in place, so I'm expecting a PSVR2 conversion will follow the headsets official reveal.

Can you name a more iconic duo than "Capcom" and "being back"
