I had 3 years of gold, that I probably bought for like 120 bucks or so....an extra dollar to convert it all to GPU, which expires...idk, sometime late next year...probably around October or something, at which point I'll be paying 38,99 every 3 months.

Value of GamePass, for me: Basically 3 Series X/PS5 consoles...so far...probably 4 by the end of the year.

I think this is it. I also have a sub for my kids that is shared across their consoles, I don't even know what it has saved me there. Not nearly as much, but it has saved me. Now, subtracting my cost, I would say at most I have spent $140 on GamePass subs. I've also bought some DLC/MTX for some of the games, and some of them like Slay the Spire I bought on Switch and Xbox after playing them. So I'd probably slice off another couple hundred and say it's saved me around $1,400.

I'm also only including games I was really interested in and spent some time playing. Games I would have bought anyway, at MSRP or on sale. Lots of other games I downloaded to try and quickly deleted. Like a couple Yasnooza games, Zombie Army, Dead Island, Celeste, etc.

I've tried to reflect the USD costs when in reality I spent in GBP.

I've also been played Ori and Blind Forest, MCC, Halo 5, Forza Horizon 4, Outer Worlds, Wolfensteins, Doom eternal, KC Deliverance, Sunset Overdrive etc. but I either owned those games before or came to purchase them anyway, so dont count them as value added from the service. In some cases I'm playing the PC version of MCC these days rather than Xbox, I'm not sure whether to count this because I already owned the console version.

Overall I'm net +$125~ , or thereabouts.

Not gonna bother listing anything from before 2020 as that would take waaaay too long.

Upgraded 3 years of Gold to GP Ultimate in 2019. So if I break that down on the four months of 2021, I spent around $12 on Game Pass Ultimate during that time.

Gamepass Value from what I actually played is only $60 or so from what I played:
FH4 $60
Crackdown 3 $30
Downloaded Gears 5 and something else (don't even remember) but didn't get around to playing it.

Cost:$1 for gamepass + $30 for wired 360 controller (FH4 doesn't work with non XBox controllers)

However it also cancelled my plans to get an XBox One X after a price drop to play FH4 and other exclusives.
That's another $400 saved, plus other games I might have been enticed to buy after getting a One X (FH3 for sure)

It wasn't just value, it actually saved me money and first gen I didn't end up with all 3 consoles. The value of exclusives on PC for $1 was too much to justify getting the console.

Did it save you money or did you end up increasing your gaming budget by having access to more games?

But I played the first few hours each of dozens other games, f. e. Microsoft Flight Simulator.

Many of them I want to finish someday... if I find the time.

My costs so far: €130 for 61 months... just filled up GamePass Ultimate for the next 3 years tonight.

For me it definitely saved money. I don't have enough time to play the free games on Gamepass as it is, let alone buy other ones I wouldn't normally have bought on Switch/PC.
