Stock issues once again cause the Switch to stomp the new consoles (among other factors). The 3DS finally reaches under 1,000 units sold globally. Remaining 3DS stock should be sold out by summer or early fall. Xbox continues to be a nonfactor in Japan, and I don't think that can change. PlayStation seems to be becoming more irrelevant to Japan from the PS3 to the present.

Lifetime Sales Predictions

Switch: 125 million (was 73, then 96, then 113 million)

PS5: 105 million Xbox Series S/X: 60 million

PS4: 122 mil (was 100 then 130 million) Xbox One: 50 mil (was 50 then 55 mil)

3DS: 75.5 mil (was 73, then 77 million)

Looks like the Switch baseline is 450k. It should surpass the Xbox 360 in the 3rd or 4th week of May and the PS3 in late June.

VGChartz Top Years W1-15

Adjustments push NSW 2021 Q1 up to 5,959K - biggest non-holiday quarter ever.

Buffer over 2020 is now down to 644K and will be eaten away through week 19, but only needs to do 383K a week min to fall behind, so this buffer will hold.  From week 20 - 37, NSW 2021 should have the advantage as 2020 succumbs to supply issues.

-Healthy signs right now that NSW 2021 will enter the shopping season in Q4 with a buffer over 2020.

-NSW needs to average 454K per week to match Q2 2020

-NSW needs to average 464K per week to hit 12M by the halfway point of week 26

-NSW needs to average 388K per week for the next 8 weeks to be the fastest to 10M (23 weeks total; NDS 07 & NSW 20 did it in 24)

-7M will be achieved in W16 - fastest ever (NDS 07 & 08 & NSW 20 - 17 weeks)

-8M will likely be achieved in W18 - fastest ever (NDS 07 & NSW 20 - 19 weeks)

-VGC seems to be projecting US NPD April at 690-700K.

PS5 got nice numbers. I predict PS4 will do at least 119 million ^^.

At this time, Switch is running like Usain Bolt on steroids.

Switch will outsell XB360 in 4 weeks

I hope we see history happen with switch 2021 outpacing every console ever and selling the most in a calendar year in the history of gaming.
