What I was thinking. Also how many of the limited edition consoles will likely be produced?

Whoah, with more sold PS5 we now see older titles for PS5 in the charts. Yeah!
curl-6 said: Yeah the ratio of the OG Switch to the Lite strongly suggests the former is still in short supply. Just two weeks now til MH Rise hits, hope they can manage enough supply to make the most of its opening week. |
It's quite possible that part of the current shortage is just from stockpiling consoles for the MH:R release. It should do over 200k that week at the very least

Yeah, I actually think this week is a milestone for the PS5, since neither of those titles are new. PS5 now has an install base big enough where they can actually get titles in the top 30 regularly, even when there isn't a new PS5 release.
curl-6 bet me that PS5 + X|S sales would reach 56m before year end 2023 and he was right.
My Bet With curl-6
My Threads:
Master Thread, Game of the Year/Decade
Switch Will Be #1 All Time
Zelda Will Outsell Mario (Achieved)
How Much Will MH Rise sell?
My Bet With Metallox
Without stock issues Switch would have sold +100k. There's no way that the Lite model almost sells as much as the original model.

Douglas Reynholm: "Two of them now!"
TOP 20 2020 Switch Famitsu Q1:
TOTAL: 5.290.762
TOTAL HARDWARE: 1.700.352
TOP 20 2021 Switch Famitsu:
TOTAL: 3.964.966
TOTAL HARDWARE: 1.388.373
Next quarter is when things get really interesting as there is Monster Hunter Rise, combined with a streak of software titles that will be providing momentum to hardware. By mid-year in 2020 Switch had sold 2.66 million hardware while Top 20 Software was at 9.31 million. This year we are heading towards 3 million hardware and 12 million software. The main difference being that at least 50% of software sales will be third party compared to 8% last year.
Based on physical copies sold, I think its safe to say DeS surpassed 100k+ lifetime in Japan, with digital sales included.
Last edited by PotentHerbs - on 19 March 2021While it's something to see multiple PS5 games make the top 30, and not new releases either, 40k and 43k LTD for it's two biggest launch titles after four months is a bit underwhelming to say the least.
