TL DR:

Image quality mode: (world details, shadows, ambient occlusion, draw distance, ect)
Both dynamic 4k, PS5 has vastly better texture filtering, and slightly higher avg resolution.
Both near 60fps stable, XSX has has times when its hovering in the mid 50's to high 50s when its 60fps on the PS5.
XSX has alot more screen tearing, but the way the PS5 does it, is sometimes more distracting to the eye.

Performance mode/Frame Rate mode (1080p 120hz)
PS5 has drastically more details (than either xbox versions).
XSX has less Car LOD, enviroment details, less road tessellation, less grass/foliage, theres geometric cutbacks, and again the texture filtering issue.

All 3 run basically flawless 120fps.
However there is a track, that has dips down to mid 90-100's on the PS5 for abit (where it doesnt on the XSX, its closer to 120fps)
(this happends only on this track, near the start of the track)

Resolution mode (sharp but missing certain effects):
sticks near 4k more often than other modes.
All 3 are basically locked 60fps (XSS struggles abit).

Overall..... I'd say this is a toss up, probably slightly favors PS5.
(esp if your playing this on the most normal mode, favoring imagine quality)

This is image quality mode on both:

This is what 120hz mode looks like on both:

Like theres tons of cutbacks on the XSX mode that runs 120hz, and its only a single track where its beating out the PS5 for a short while.

Pretty crazy how well PS5 is doing against the Series X so far. Idk what's up with the Series X that's causing it to under perform but MS really needed to hit a home run on the power aspect as that has been their main motto. Especially with Halo being delayed. We will see how it does in the future but the PS5 is doing much better than I expected!

Damn! The PS5 is a fucking beast!

Wow, at 10 to 12 min the xbox sX version is missing a lot of foliage and the cars assets are low poly. Why?

They do that to reach 120fps on the XSX.
They couldnt do it, with the same image quality as the PS5, so they lowered settings, to get FPS up.

Thats why cars look like this in that mode:

People are saying its "the tools" fault.
So just give MS a year or so to fix the tools, and then future games releases (2022+) will probably look better.

*IF* this is even the case (we dont know if its actually the toolkits fault), the fact that it might go on like this for a few years... its a bad look.
Esp when your marketed your machine as "the most powerfull console ever" ect.

Every review feels the same. "PS5 did it better. Xbox has VRR".Didn't they mention it may have a bug or something in there? I think the observer also had issues? Kinda feels like the Xbox versions of these games just weren't ready yet.

DF said the PS5 version has a slight bug with SDR.
It causes it to be abit darker than it should be (not much), but it potentially cruches a few details in super dark area's.
Oddly enough, DF said they still prefer this "bug"'s look, ei. the higher contract and darker darks.

Those textures on Xbox suck. Hopefully the devkits get better and the Series X starts to perform as it should for how powerful it is.

It is what it is, but at least the XSX ain’t no Cell processor. Just hope it’s sooner rather then later.

Xbox: Best hardware, Game Pass best value, best BC, more 1st party genres and multiplayer titles.

Pretty much. If I had to guess as it's not just the Series X being on par with ps5 but rather behind, the extra CUs are probably not being used, least not to their full potential. And if that's the case, the much lower clock speed would explain why the Series X seems to be behind more often than not. MS really needs to start getting this under control since it's making their power marketing look like a joke.

One things clear though and that's the fact that Cerny and PS team was ready and MS was not.

Did you read that somewhere? DF also outright said they think its either a bug or a mistake, its not realistic to assume that this is representative of the power difference between the X and PS5. It seems like Series X is running the profile of a another Xbox System in terms of details, potentially the S but maybe even One X. All just speculation but nothing we've seen on paper would warrant this degree of difference between the platforms
