Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Cloud Gaming Could Be A Big Part Of Switch's Future

Most of the time id state my strong dislike for digital games let alone streaming. But if nintendo is going to continually put out underpowered consoles that cant sustain the average gamers library, they might as well trade out the card slot for a sim card and make their consoles the portable machines theyre meant to be. They already have the most expensive games (practically speaking) on the cheapest hardware. They may as well as trade their factory partnerships for cellular ones. It actually makes alot of sense to me buainess wise. No more shipping and material costs. Only subscription dollars. Shit, maybe they even pay both verizon and sprint for the use of their towers to usher in the "nintendo cellular gaming service". Switch pro has 5g and a card alot. Then the switch 2 ditches the slot. They succeed where stadia fails. Realistically that sounds too ballsy for nintendo tho.

Around the Network

There's only one streaming game that NEEDS to happen and that's Final Fantasy VII Remake - Cloud Version.
That's a pun that can't be passed up.

I just finished the demo. It works without the online fee, which is nice. And the game works flawlessly, to my surprise. How is it I can stream an entire game, but most Smash games kept lagging?

Most Nintendo games use p2p protocols, you are dependant on the people's internet you match up with.
Join that together with the shitty wireless connection in portable mode and you have a recipe for greatness.

Yeah I'll never play smash online again.  Last time I tried it online on 3DS I got about 5 fps.  Your last sentence cracked me up.
