"We won't remove from others", do that by removing from one of the platforms it was releasing so far. I dunno why people defend Spencer two pronged tongue so much.

It's ok, the games still come to PC and we have heard all gen that everyone games on PC, so I think we're good here.

In reality we can just chalk this up as another instance of you being deliberately ignorant to context.

No, it is more like you being protective of whatever Phill Spencer said. He could very well say he is launching on supported Xbox platforms, but then he wanted to add the good guy touch and be the fake he likes.

Well, the guy is about to give me plenty more new games to play for $10 a month. The real question would be why shouldn't I "defend" him?

xCloud app for PS5 is all it takes. Hell, it would only take a decent browser and you could just link to xCloud via the web browser in your PS5!

Hey, can’t have bad press. They technically aren’t removing by honouring Deathloop and Ghostwire. Probably Elder Scrolls Online and Fallout 76 should they get next gen versions.

I like his deliciously vague comments. Keep people guessing, keep the free Xbox word of mouth going.  Makes Xbox look benevolent instead of evil corporation.

Xbox: Best hardware, Game Pass best value, best BC, more 1st party genres and multiplayer titles.

Yup, they don’t need PlayStation. 100m is a drop in the bucket when you realize they’re already on PC and mobile, user bases far greater than whatever the PS5 will sell. If they get the web browser xCloud working you might be able to play the games on PlayStation.

The purchase isn’t even finalized yet. It’s almost as if these games are years off or something. It always baffles me how some of the PS crowd here and you especially, cling to every word Papa Phil says and you like, make records of this shit to whip out a year from now to point out how he’s a bold faced liar for not doing exactly what he’d said.... even though every time, “exactly what he’d said” is actually your biased view of what he said or sometimes not even what he said but what you think he meant, LOL.

In this interview he said the deal wasn’t done to take games away from other people. That doesn’t mean in any way that games won’t be taken from other people, it means that wasn’t the point of the deal. It seems rather simple, but I can understand and excuse your fog of console warz getting it mixed up.

Defending his decision to buy the studio and even make it exclusive is plenty fine. To defend his fake speaches is something else.

Sure, still that doesn't make his statement true.

They have signed deal, would be complicated to just default the deal of the company they are purchasing. Usually the contracts forbid this type of thing.

Won't even take the energy to reply to you.

I am skeptical about MS excluding Playstation for a few reasons.

First, there is so much money being left on the table by skipping Playstation when they already have many studios working on exclusives. Second, they already get benefits by owning Zenimax such as launching $60-70 games on Gamepass, exclusive marketing, bundles and perhaps even timed exclusivity or content. Last, Zenimax will still be its own publisher it seems.

If MS had less studios and less big projects in development, keeping Zenimax content exclusive might feel more necessary. In general it would also encourage more people to use MS platforms. But I think MS will play it safe and get the Playstation money as well while also using the benefits of owning the IPs.

Huh, I’m surprised at your caution. But in response the whole idea of exclusives has always been about leaving money on the table. Technically Sony or Nintendo locking their games to their platforms is leaving money on the table.

Keeping future big hitters on PS5 won’t create the Game Pass numbers spike MS wants if PS gamers know they can simply “wait them out” if it’s say timed exclusive.

Guess we’ll see, I’m guessing Phil being vague for 2 reasons: The acquisition won’t be official till next year and therefore ply it safe till then. And all the vague statements makes for so much Xbox free press. All this free advertising we gamers are doing word of mouth is insane PR boost for Xbox that official marketing just can’t do.

I think my post already has answers to what you've said. Zenimax is being treated as it own publisher, MS is giving the impression its basically separate company. Their IPs also have a history and success on Playstation. So much like Minecraft, I don't anticipate exclusivity for everything.

I said it would be best for MS platforms if the content was exclusive. But I also believe MS could opt for Playstation revenue instead. Those same Zenimax IPs will still cause a spike for Gamepass even if they are multiplat. And so will other exclusives like Halo, Fable and the many other upcoming titles.

Like I said, the marketing will push all Zenimax games for Xbox. Elder Scroll VI ads will say Xbox and Gamepass. It will give a spike in Gamepass subscriptions because its instant access at a low price. There are still benefits for MS even with those titles being multiplat.

But I don't understand why his speech bothers you this much; I mean, these companies give us half-truths, PR statements, and outright lies all the time, all of them. Nintendo once said that Switch was not meant to replace the Wii U and 3DS, but instead coexist with them (I have no idea why they felt the need to say that, but they did). Ryan recently said that all PS5 games were going to be exclusives bcuz they believed in generations and all that jazz. And now you have MS with the "When everybody plays, we all win" PR bs.

It's the nature of business. We all should've been used to it by now; you just have to learn to read between the lines.
