Crash was never big in Japan. This did do significantly worse than the remake trilogy, but sales in Japan just aren't that big of a deal for franchise plans.

im pretty sure the original trilogy was huge

They sold 1.3 ish million each in Japan. So I wouldn't call that huge. But... at the same time "never that big" is probably underselling it by a lot, so I retract that.

At any rate, Japan's always been the weakest region for Crash, and recently the series hasn't done that well there, so I don't think doing poorly there will have a big impact on the series' plans.

2020 edges out a win this week while it also passes 4m YTD. Now there are three easy weeks ahead. If I remember correctly, Pokémon bundles were available in week 44 of last year, so some of the Sword/Shield boost occured before the games actually released in week 46.

Only 450k units to go until 2020 has officially beat 2019 in sales for the year. Will likely take six weeks for that to happen.

I think Switch will do so in 5 weeks already. The release week of both SMT III Nocturne and Pikmin 3 in 4 weeks should be big enough to allow this to happen - if Nintendo provides enough consoles, of course.

Switch to PS4 ratio at 15:1 for the week.

Was there a holiday or something this week, for both Switch and PS4 to rise?

Another high numbers from the Switch! All Nintendo can do this holiday is to stock more

PS4 6 (5 third party)

This week Switch has 8/13 = 62% of third party games.  Switch has had the majority of third party games in the top 30 for about 4 months now.  I don't think this trend is going to stop until the PS5 releases, and even then it may still continue indefinitely.  Third party companies are gradually releasing more games on the Switch and consumers keep favoring Switch games each week.

I'm sure Animal Crossing is going to win this race in the very long run, but it may take years.  Do you think AC is going to outsell PokeSmash before the end of the year?  Right now it doesn't look like it, but who knows what kind of holiday sales boost it could get?

If it surpassed Pokesmash by end of the year it would mean 7mil retail and 9.5mil-10mil ship+digital.

For your  question probably not but it could be close. 12 weeks left. It would have to do 100k per week so imma go with surpassing smash by its 1 year anniversary.

i think 6.6mil-6.8mil this year retail

  • Again not much movement in terms of 3rd Parties in the past month
  • Bandai has surpassed 2M sales within the Top 30
  • Minecraft has surpassed 1.5M sales

Konami now has 3 games that have surpassed 200K sales on the Switch, on the PS4 lifetime they've had 4.

With Momotaru they will actually easily score their biggest game since the PS3 days, so by the end of the year, they will likely be over 1.2M sales on the Switch. How high Momotaru actually ends up is anyone's guess but I'm now expecting its lifetime sales to surpass 1M sales making it more successful than MGS IV

Overall their multiplat/AA Switch timed exclusive strategy is paying off since they also have continued to have decent sales on the PS4. Still thinking that porting some older MGS titles & PES on the Switch would be easy money. Overall I wouldn't be surprised if eBaseball ends up over 350K by the end of the year, as it's having very decent legs and a holiday upcoming.

PS4 Konami Top 5:

  1. Metal Gear Solid V - 448.554
  2. Pro Baseball Spirits 2019 - 259.227
  3. Jikkyou Powerful Pro Baseball 2018 - 255.850
