RFA really has been an underestimated force this game is heading to like 5m WW, AC finally dropping but that's after selling around 8m in the region in total.

week 24 from launch

34k: Animal Crossing NH

30k: Mario Kart 8D / Pokemon SwSh / SSBU combined

So maybe 75k will be the baseline for now. Which is pretty incredible. Let's see if Mario 35th collection can do something about lite launch.

Pretty crazy considering it was 50k last year.

Yup, and that's without releases. It will definitely go up in the coming weeks.

Next week Switch hits 15 million!
Lots of new releases filling the top 10 chart, and Switch versions of games clearly outselling PS4 versions now.
Looks like AC is finally starting to drop down towards wherever its long term legs are gonna be. The 50k+/week run was insane though. Japan has never seen anything like it.
Ring Fit still killing it, still clearly very supply constrained.

I wonder if Nintendo will ship a lot of extra stock globally for the Mario anniversary week. Would love to see Japan hit 100k again that week.

Xbox had a boost, what game released on Xbox Japan?

RFA is actually above Animal Crossing this week.  RFA must have gotten a huge shipment in.  The sales of Animal Crossing is highly dependent upon the number of Switches available (RFA too).  So when RFA sales go up that makes Animal Crossing sales go down.

Weekly Switch sales are always fairly close to RFA + AC sales.  This week:

RFA + AC = 53,594 + 34,401 = 87,995
Switch sales = 78,773

AC supply constrained? Also maybe Ninty actually ships a tonne for Mario collection

Just a guy who doesn't want to be bored. Also

Ring fit uses big shipment!

It's super-effective!

How do it's sales in Japan stack up against Wii Fit?

Wii Fit launched only in Japan in late 2007, so Nintendo could allocate all stock to one country. That helped Wii Fit to get off to a much stronger start than RFA and pull far away, but by week 25 the launch-aligned gap between the two began to stabilize (graph created by Amnesia):

RFA continued to gain on Wii Fit in the few weeks that have yet to be added (Wii Fit did ~20k weekly at the same point).

Seems like RFA will slowly catch up over time. Will probably become a close race in the end.

Switch to PS4 ratio for the week at 41:1.

Suitably for a fitness game, Ring Fit has legs like a marathon runner.

Switch now 2 million away from catching the GBA in Japan.
