Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Nintendo quarterly sales update (Switch 61.44m, Animal Crossing 22.4m)

Thats just gigantic and awesome. So much information to go through.

Xenoblade is a very nice surprise.

Around the Network

At this point NS has surely outsold the NES, BOTW's total is now 20.2m making it another landmark first for the series while XBC series continues its consistent climb in popularity.

Animal Crossing, wow. This game is going to blow away even Tbone’s boldest predictions, whatever they may be. Zelda’s really pulling away from Mario now, quite impressive. Mario Kart suddenly feels the heavy breathing from another game in it’s neck for the first time in generations.

Isabelle currently cracking her knuckles

Isabelle must have been training hard with Doomguy to be able to get this strong.

My (locked) thread about how difficulty should be a decision for the developers, not the gamers.

Very happy to see those Xenoblade numbers! It's outsold the original Wii version and has nearly outsold the Wii + New 3DS versions combined!

I wonder where sales for '2' are at. They have to be closing in on 2 million at this point.

Keep going, Monolith! You have a potential big time player on your hands!

XC 2 was at 1.74 by March of last year. Considering the pace it was selling, it must have passed 2 millions for a while now. Honestly, given the boost Nintendo has given it, I wouldn't be surprised if it was already at 2.25 millions.

Seeing XC DE numbers just makes me proud with Monolith. I'm so freaking happy to see it doing these huge numbers.

I fully expect XC 3 to be their next game, and it wouldn't surprise me in the least for it to do 2 million units in the first month.

AC number sare just bonkers though.

Looking at XC data right now, am I mistaken to believe that XC digital sales represent 50% of it's sales in Japan?

Given that these numbers are as of June 30th, Switch has almost certainly outshipped NES by now, and since it's selling just about all it can ship, it's probably outsold it as well.

Would also point out RFA has put in a beast of a run considering it was a game many wrote off.
