Well I think I said at one point that it had a shot at 10 mil, so now I'm comitting to it.
I can only see that happening if it doesn't get a PS5 re-release though, but I'm starting to think Sony won't do as many of those this time around.

I am not sure if it has the word of mouth effect enough to sustain a steady sales stream like let's say HZD. The new system is also coming so I think in the long run it will suffer from being the last game of a soon to be replaced system.

8m, Late gen well received games tend to sell well, but they don't push hardware.

I think it will sell from 7 to 8M, and GoT is my favorite game this gen so of course it is also favorite new IP.

10 Million+ lifetime.

The pandemic has changed gaming in the short term, so it's hard to say. Those first weekend sales are huge. If that happened a year ago, I'd say it's going to sell 10mm lifetime. But, games are selling exceptionally well right, and will probably slow a lot as things normalize. So, I don't know how to extrapolate lifetime sales out of first weekend sales that are happening right now.

I chose 7+ million in the poll.

7-8m seems reasonable for a new IP with good word of mouth like this one has.

Bonus: Horizon and Bloodborne. I'd put GoT as third place after these.

honestly I've seen more footage of it being shared of twitter than any game bar Animal crossing, the word of mouth is really strong what I've witnessed.

10M + easily. With a verypossible PS5 patch it will sell even more.

the word of mouth is being great.

Favorite new IP is definitely GoT, even as HzD will likely wield better results.
Both games have put their devs on my map for definitely buying from not eh.. might buy.
HzD and GoT are massive step ups for both devs.
I just wish Japan Studios come back from its limbo and Polyphony Digital go back to must buy from me.
Sony has an unbelievable bunch of amazing studios right now.

PD will do that with GT7 we just need Japan Studio to do LoD2 them all is good.
