Also OP can you remove the spoilers from the first page?

The OP can't control the first page, only the first post.

But if that's what you're referring to... the only thing that could remotely be considered "spoilers" there is already in a spoiler tag. If somebody clicks on that then they have no right to complain. Besides, I'm pretty sure those images were taken from official trailers/videos anyway. So not really "spoilers" unless you consider official trailers/adverts spoilers too.

Yes the first Post.

And as I said, they opened without me clicking on it and then were hidden a few seconds later. A glitch or whatever.

Considering this is not TLOU2 spoiler thread, there is zero need for that content there.

I adverted my eyes before i could fully make out the content but if it wasn't spoiler content, then it doesn't need to be in a spoiler tag right?

I'm leaving this thread but just a heads up for anyone else.

Around the Network

the last of us 2 the biggest fiasco of this generation.

Its not about whether the leak is out there, its about limiting the number of people exposed to it and I've observed trolls going out of their way to ruin it by putting spoilers under any TLOU2 related content.

There is absolutely nothing lost on the consumer side from sony being extra aggressive with censorship of leaked materials

Dood... they censored their own trailer. That's definitely something lost on the consumer side.

Plus, a lot of these people that are being censored are at the very least potential consumers too. Pissing off potential fans (or most likely existing fans) isn't how you "protect" your fans. It's how you lose them.

That can comfortably be undone, again nothing of meaning is lost. And the benefit far outweigh someone being butt hurt because their TLOU2 meme was removed from twitter. The latter I'm sure represents a tiny fraction of their audience.

For journalists the Embargo ends in 2 weeks. And as far as I'm aware this censorship is simply one of the functions on twitter so people can go about their business on other platforms.

Once this all passes hopefully they will never be in this position again. When was the last time this happened to a video game?

All censoring needs to die.
Also, this is effing hilarious, all  his trouble for one dumb-ass game.

I support them all the way. Protect your fans and your art as aggressively as possible and its kind of unprecedented situation which is why they're resorting to this system. I've never had to be afraid to read the comments under a tweet in fear that they were going to ruin a game, or film for me but somehow Naught Dog has the worst trolls following them. I imagine it may be for political reasons, in any case things have already been spoiled for me because I decided to read IGNs twitter replies to an Assassins Creed article....

"Protect your fans and your art as aggressively as possible" I guess you mean protect your brand image and money source as aggressively as possible.

Also a valid reason indeed, much people are depending on that money for their livelihood.

Even if it was a single person money they have the right to their property and others trying to use it for themselves are of lesser priority.

Obscuring information about the product you're trying to sell is not how an honest livelihood is made.

They have the right to reveal that information themselves in the form that does the product justice.

People have a right to talk about their property. Journalists have a right to write articles about their property (and use images/videos in those articles).

Sony are just being dicks and abusing a broken system (Twitter's DMCA system) in order to prevent people from doing things they have a legal right to do.

Sure people have the right to talk. But several of those aren't journalists.

And yes Sony is being a dick, but much less than the leakers and several of the people that covered it.

You mean after they've extracted money from people?

Not really, no. People have a right to know what they're buying before they buy it.

The review embargo ends 1 week before the release of the game, so plenty of time to cover it. And the leaks don't review the game.

What i hate if i am trying to avoid Japanese manga for one year but some major fuck up spoiled in the comment or in Youtube discussion, made my one year worth wait is useless . That's why i am agree with this, many people want to avoid spoiler. It will ruin people expectations.

People always have the tools to know what they're buying without the need of clickbait ''journalism'' that can potentially undeservingly damage a product.
