That would be a dream!  Unfortunately... won’t happen while the people elected by the current system are in power... which means it will never happen... power doesn’t like to change how it got power...

Howie Hawkins has become the presumptive nominee or the green party, having gotten more than the 176 delegates needed to win the primaries

The United Kingdom: the world's default nation of origin.

You know, I've heard of the sun never setting on the British Empire before, but this is absolutely ridiculous.

VGC is a UK website. That's pretty much it.

Well pretty obvious the guy was a bot or just some fool.  Notice how he didn't even respond and who the fuck says real Americans.  Either an idiot or bot.  I stand by my accusations.

I don't know why, but Green Presidential candidate Howie Hawkins seems to use British newspaper for his campaigning - or US newspapers are not interested into third candidates. Either way, here's 2 articles about him in the independent:

https://www.independent.co.uk/news/world/americas/us-election/green-party-howie-hawkins-2020-us-election-trump-biden-a9591151.html

https://www.independent.co.uk/voices/howie-hawkins-green-party-socialist-2020-us-election-trump-biden-candidates-a9591586.html

I pretty much think he nailed it in those articles. A pity so few Americans will get to see them...

There just isn't any point in voting for an independent right now. Some speculate that its the reason Trump was able to eke out a narrow victory over Hillary in 2016, thanks to people supporting candidates like Jill Stein and Gary Johnson, and as a result Hillary losing by small margins in key states.

The main goal is to remove Trump from office and everyone needs to unit behind Biden for that to happen.

I have to disagree here.

What will push the democrats to any change if everybody votes for them? The Establishment Democrats of today are policy- and philosophy-wise identical to the Republicans of the 90's, both parties moved more and more to the right. Now with Trump slumping deeply is exactly the right time to vote 3rd party unless you want to risk the party getting split in half and ensure Republicans win every election after this one because the democratic vote is split between 2 parties?

Biden is leading so far and Trump can't muster any counters, so much so that Republicans start jumping ship. Unless there's several major changes in Trumps favor he's done for.

@SpokenTruth : In case you missed it (I posted it before already), Howie Hawkins is the presumptive nominee of the Green Party. He has also already chosen his running mate, activist and labor organizer Angela Nicole Walker

I actually vote third parties about as much as I vote for the two main parties.  I voted third party in the last election.  I am not gonna do that this time though.  Not a huge Biden fan, but trump has been such a nightmare as a president I want to do all I can to not have him for another four years.  I don’t think the country would make it.  I’ll go back to pushing for more third party options after there is at least a somewhat competent person in the White House.

That must be pretty easy to say from the comfort of Luxembourg where you don't actually have to live under this guy. Right now, among many other things, I'm looking at the fact that we have the worst covid outbreak on Earth primarily because of this president and my state is starting to close back down again as a result. My point is that there are real life and death stakes to this election that seem a lot more important than posturing.

There are two candidates in this race who have a chance of becoming president and we know who they are. Everything else is an exercise in vanity and pretentiousness to the point that the major parties actually fund the campaigns of the smaller ones just to siphon off votes their serious rivals would otherwise get. The Green Party candidates are financially supported by the Republican Party and the Libertarian candidates are financially supported by the Democratic Party. That's how obvious it is that third parties in this country are a joke. Please, and I say this to you and to everybody, don't be dumb enough to make yourself the butt of that joke.

Rereading my post, I see I missed the rather critical mention to do so in safe blue/red states, not swing states or states that have the potential to become one, like Texas this year around.

@bolded: Trump wants to kill off Nato, which would give Putin huge influence over Europe. He's trying to buy up all the vaccines and medicines for CoViD-19 and doesn't care if any other country would not get any at all due to this. He killed the Paris treaty and violated countless other international treaties. He's supporting and flaunting over several dictators around the world instead of keeping them in check. Trust me when I say that even outside of the US, no one is safe from this madman POTUS.

But what do you expect to change under Biden if he doesn't feel any challenge from the left? He must feel that the support from the left is far from granted, and that he has to work towards their demands if he wants them to support him in 4 years. He shouldn't take leftists for granted, and this is the best way to make him know that he has to work for them.

Or would you rather want that the left wing splits off, starts a new party and thus dooms the democratic party in 4 years and maybe even future elections? Biden needs to get pulled to the left to keep the democratic party united instead of the party continuing to creep to the right.
