Average daily temperature in my city in January was 3C above the historical values, from 14 to 17, though December was colder than usual.

Nonetheless, it is getting hotter. Far from those cold winters I used to enjoy as a kid in 2003-06.

Seems alrighty due to the fact that Calgary is generally a chilly city, but it's bad news for us folks that live in semi-arid land (I'm from Tijuana, Mexico) :(  Those three or four months where we could escape from hot temperatures and enjoy cold days are gradually becoming warmer and warmer. Hot days now can extend until late November, something my family tells me wasn't the case not too long ago. 

Also, all in all 21C in Antartica sounds unbelievable, but here we are. 

Maybe Mar-a-Lago will be underwater after all the glaciers melt. Unfortunately a lot of cities worldwide will be forced to move inland or spend massive money in flood mitigation. Humans have a nasty habit of putting cities close to bodies of water. Some now are understanding that they need to protect marshlands instead of paving over them with concrete. Might be too late for some areas though.

No records, but here in Stockholm we've basically had a five-month autumn. I've had to wash my car thoroughly two times a month due to all the shit and grime on the roads.

In denmark we had a unusually mild winter.
January was the warmest its been in over 147 years.

We also saw alot of rain, more than normal.
This seems to be a patern, in europe we see slightly warmer temps, and more rain.

Meanwhile in some places like Australia they go years and years with droughts, heat records, and wild fires that last 220+ days in a year.

How was it there? did you guys get any snow?
It feels like its been a few years since we last so any "real" snow.
This year I dont even recall 1 single day with snow.

I remember when I was a kid, there was enough snow outsides on a nearby field were I lived,
that I could take a shovel and dig tunnels and crawl around out there on the field.

In recent times,we just dont get those amounts of snow.

Jan-feb are usually the coldest months of the year, here.
Meanwhile we havnt even had sub-zero temps most nights.

While global temps have risen like 1,5 degree or whatever, apparently in scandinavia its effects are higher.
Here its like 3-4 degree's, which make a big differnce if your "just" around where its cold enough to freeze or not.

So no snow, lots of rain... very mild winter.

on the upside, you save money on heating.

February is normally the coldest month by far, so far it definitely has had the coldest days. But right after that it shot up to the hottest days since November.

We had one day of.. let's call it snow where I live in Germany (near Cologne) during the whole winter. There was a little more snow in the south but not much.
Roughly 10-15 degrees Celsius every day which is way too warm for this time of the year.

Also apparently the last time, this much melt (in antarcitica) happend, was over 100,000 years ago (Eem-periode).
Back then sea levels were 3m higher than now.
