I don't see it matching the PS2, but I see it going down as the second best-selling PlayStation of all-time and the second best-selling home console of all-time. It should finish between the Game Boy/Game Boy Color sales and DS sales.



Lifetime Sales Predictions 

Switch: 151 million (was 73, then 96, then 113 million, then 125 million, then 144 million)

PS5: 115 million (was 105 million) Xbox Series S/X: 57 million (was 60 million, then 67 million)

PS4: 120 mil (was 100 then 130 million, then 122 million) Xbox One: 51 mil (was 50 then 55 mil)

3DS: 75.5 mil (was 73, then 77 million)

I have but mainly because I love Sony 1st party. But would you disagree that there are people that don't care about JRPGs but like FF and/or have a very big nostalgy for FFVII?

When they are done with 7 I want a remake of Final Fantasy IX with Sakaguchi to take a break from his rap career and supervise it. It's my fave FF game ever. Just above VI.

I love Final Fantasy VII-VIII-IX-X so I'm okay with this.

I'm waiting to see FF VIIR to see if I would like a IX remake made similar way.

Begore judging that I would just want the same game but made with current tech for the graphics, polygon models, CGIs, etc. And of course the voice acting S2
