Do we know how engine fees worth with streaming/sub services? Like if we have 5m players through Gamepass on Unreal Engine what do Epic make from that?

5% revenue no matter how it was earned, through sales or otherwise, I suppose

Methinks its around 5 percent of the total earnings of GP per annum after accounting for non UE games.

Did we ever find out the full games of what Sony moneyhatted? I remember that insider saying we couldn't believe what they had planned. Bonus points to anyone who has that era thread of star field exclusive.

The mainline FF is already a far stretch.

The rumored exclusives in that thread as far as I remember, in addition to Deathloop, Tokyo Ghostwire, and Project Athia, which Sony had already moneyhatted at that point (presumably future FF7 Remake parts are timed as well):

  • Starfield (supposedly Sony tried to get it but MS negotiated the acquisition deal before they could)
  • Street Fighter 6 (confirmed to be multiplat by the most reliable Capcom insider)
  • CoD (Sony has a mode exclusive in CoD for a full year, but it's not a main mode, and they certainly didn't moneyhat the whole game)
  • Silent Hill reboot (nothing ever came of this rumor, not sure what is happening with it)
  • Harry Potter RPG (confirmed multiplat since then)
  • FF16 (announced as timed exclusive for PS5)

Yeah sone of the insiders who have talked about Silent Hill said it was going to be announced at Sony’s last event and then when it didn’t happen they said it was going to be revealed at the TGA’s.

Wouldn’t be shocked if it was real and Sony tried to Moneyhat all three of MGS, Silent Hill and Castlevania from Konami.

That’s some serious money hatting 🎩 there.
People got the nerve to say that MS is anti consumer but gloss over Sony’s aggressive moves that will purposefully block gamers access to 3rd party games.

IMO with MS buying Bethesda and taking away a potential Starfield timed exclusive deal away from them, I believe 100% that Sony will double down on the Money-Hatting as a reaction and will start paying real money to keep those free Japanese exclusives that they were already getting during the PS4 gen 100% guaranteed exclusive to take away any potential chance of them coming to Xbox or even the Switch.

I really hope that MS were able to convince some of those Japanese Devs to release some of the unreleased titles on Xbox Series S/X, especially GranBlue Fantasy Re:Link and Project Awakening.

Any word on when RT will come to Minecraft on the Series X? I remember it was shown on the console during the May early previews.

It was a tech demo running on Series X. Currently it's still in beta on PC and seems far from release. I wouldn't be surprised if it doesn't release at all actually if MS decides it's not worth it, because it was made just to test the tech, not to upgrade Minecraft visuals.

Brazilian guy has a Series X retail unit and opened the inside of the console, watch before it gets taken down https://m.youtube.com/watch?feature=youtu.be&v=3FaDVdsTr8o

edit: he opened the back plate of the console and took off the fan revealing that it has Master Chief’s helmet etched on it.

I wonder if it’s possible to put the components in a custom case, it would be cool to a see through green Series X.

Done with Yakuza 0.

Keeping it very short here since I already created a long post a few days ago.

Graphics: Some bad, some good = meh. Very nice in-game cutscenes (especially facial and clothes textures) though.

Audio: No English dub, not everything Japanese dubbed, combat music seems to be always the same.

Gameplay: combat is not good: blocking is barely worth it - enemy can start their next combo quicker than you after successfully blocking. very specific timing to initiate heat moves. Story will mostly just rush you through the city from one cutscene to another. Barely any variety during the story - one on-rails section and one karaoke song, that's pretty much it. The rest is combat.

Game design: small maps, lacking ability to create custom marker on world map, barely anything plays outside of the map, recycled boss fights (especially with one of the lieutenants), far far too many and long cutscenes. As soon as you earn the ability to earn money (cabaret club and real estate business) you'll immediately change characters after the next story part. Once you start earning big figures (including cash rewards for chapter completion) you play as a character in the wrong city and logically can't invest it into your business.

Story: started off strong, obvious plot twist in chapter 10, not obvious but stupid plot twist in a later chapter. Everyone is constantly being watched yet when they are actively hunted they will still hide within the small part of the city, Batman's no-killing rule in effect.... why??? Also Majima is constanly breaking necks of Yakuzas during QTEs yet he refrains from killing in cutscenes because once you do it, you can never go back...

Not too excited trying one of the Kiwami games. If anything I'll probably try YK2 as that seems to be the better one.
