its so damned simple.... look for a game that is driven by the cinematic story telling 30fps is great, but generally for a game that resolves around smooth gameplay the more the better, whether its CSGO(and ripoffs)/dota/cod/nfs

I'm pretty excited about seeing some games hit 120fps. Really looking forward to seeing what Halo multiplayer feels like at that setting. I imagine it's going to be glorious.

This. I recently bought a 120hz monitor for 120fps on multiplayer games like COD and hopefully Halo.

Wish I had a 120hertz tv, but I'm still thinking most games will be 60, so I can wait till next gen to get a new tv.

Been seeing some speculation (not rumours) that InXile's project will be their cancelled project called "Meantime".

Meantime was a cancelled time travel RPG produced by Interplay, using the same engine as Wasteland and developed by some of the same people, which was eventually cancelled in the early 1990s.

Although set in the same universe as Wasteland, and with similar engine and gameplay, Meantime was to feature an entirely unique storyline. The basic premise was that the player would travel through time, and recruit famous historical figures to the player's party. The party would attempt to repair damage caused by a similar party of time-traveling villains, attempting to alter the course of history by influencing events.

Recruitable characters would be generally limited to people who had met mysterious ends, so as to be in sync with historic events. For example, Amelia Earhart joins the party when she is rescued from a Japanese POW camp, and Wernher von Braun when he is rescued from the Soviets at the end of World War II. Each character would also have a particular specialty; Cyrano de Bergerac, for example, would have an expert fencing skill. It was never stated if the enemy characters would also be historic figures.

Back in 2014, InXile trademarked "Meantime" again.

Looking back on what Brian said when he pitched the idea to Matt Booty.

I sat with Matt and said here is what we want to do, and he said 'if that's what you want to do, then great'. It was over in like 60 seconds. "I had to go back to Matt a second time and go: 'I just want to be sure that you understood that this is what we're doing.' And he said: 'I love the idea so much that I don't want to see anything, so that you guys over-index on what I say and think you have to change it in some capacity.'

We also have rumours that it will be Xbox's biggest RPG budget, and Matt approved it that quickly? Makes me think it has to be something very unique and a time travel RPG sounds very unique to me, only one that comes to mind is Chrono Trigger.

Lets say, you pitch something very similar to another RPG, lets imagine Obsidian pitching Avowed, they're going to be asked "what sets it apart from Elder Scrolls?" if InXile's AAA project is Wasteland, they're surely going to be asked "what sets it apart from Fallout?" so maybe InXile's project is going to be something very different.

Thinking back to that budget rumour if it is true, what could realistically be more expensive than both Fable and Avowed? Wasteland in AAA doesn't really sound more expensive on paper, likely around the same if not a little less, a time travel ARPG on paper sounds really expensive. I'm curious to know if their budget is still the biggest among the RPGs.

Who knows, Speculation Sunday, will be years before we see it though.

InXile: Kinoko Nasu, prepare your anus!!!

Now, seriously... the idea sounds interesting. I wonder why it would be insanely expensive though. As for uniqueness... I think a urban fantasy RPG with portal/isekai elements would be more unique: Camp Half Blood RPG would be insanely expensive due to the amount of stuff you'd have to reproduce and cram in a single game and how big it would be.

That project, which I actually started as a personal venture, is currently a pipe dream, so I'd like to see MS embracing a similar notion.

120fps makes sense for almost every competetive multiplayer game. You just don't care much about the graphics but the fps make an important difference.

Bill & Tedd + 12 Monkey's.

Though the more I think about this, the more unlikely it sounds, the scope would be gigantic.

Maybe he'll go back to some earlier ideas.

No, if you think about it it all makes sense.

"The biggest budget ever" we've been hearing about is because of Keanu Reeves salary.

Psi abilities gene sounds like an amazing premise for an OWRPG.

Now, someone press inXile to make the heroes young for once. Do we have any WRPG with a protagonist that is under the age of 23 and doesn't have a stubble or beard?

That would be a good explanation...

Even though it might also be the result of hiring "overrate incarnate" composer Hans Zimmer. I would wish inXile the worst if they did that.
