XBOX Series X has 802 GB of usable space after OS and system files

https://www.ign.com/articles/xbox-series-x-hands-on-load-times-quick-resume-and-compatibility

If it's the same for Series S:
500GiB = 465GB
465GB - 128GB = 337GB

Series S is 512gb. Still really small amount of ssd space available for it. Hopefully the background stuff takes up less space on the S than the X.

Edited!

I imagine a lot of the background space is for the suspend feature. Presumably this works like save states, basically saving the entire ram to the SSD so you can reload in the exact same position/state.

As the Xbox Series X can store 6 games in suspend and has 13.5gb of usable ram for games this feature alone could need up to 81gb of storage. While the Series S only has 7.5gb usable ram for games meaning same 6 games could take only up to 45gb of storage. They could even reduce number of games able to be suspended in S to further reduce the storage requirements of the feature.

It might not work exactly like this though, just my guess.

Was about to post about this the Series X should require 13.5GB x 4 and the Series S 7.5GB x 4 presuming it creates a RAM image on the SSD with the quick resume feature so that takes up half the 128GB reserved for OS/System. I think the Series S will be 370-380GB of usable storage which is pretty much the same as Xbox One's usable storage on the 500GB models.

That’s temporary. ID Software does not need to respond to Bethesda Studios anymore and that’s a good thing.

MS can work on the resurgence of arena shooters and give ID Software proper support for a Quake game.

Would love a new quake. I remember it being very fun.

I saw a youtuber say you can turn off quick resume so I wonder if that could free up more space

MS really feels like they are firing on all cylinders. Really hoping they don't mess this up. Are those loading times optimized for Series X, or just BC? Still a nice change of pace and being even more quiet than the One X is crazy...

None of the games are optimized that you're seeing. These are the types of improvements you'll see across all BC games.

Most of the fake insiders welcome controversy, because being controversial can quickly boost your followers, which is what fake leakers want, they are attention seekers. The fact that this guy made a claim that attracted a ton of attention and then backed away from said attention instead of seeking it, makes him seem a bit more legit to me. Hopefully means MS already acquired Techland, IO Interactive, Crytek, or Asobo. No way they went for CD Projekt, far too expensive, spending more than they spent on Zenimax on a single studio, even one that sells that well, just isn't good business sense imo. Would be far cheaper to moneyhat day one gamepass for Cyberpunk and Witcher 4 than to acquire them.

Makes it a bit more genuine for me to but I still believe that he is over hyping this purchase, I think that in the end it will be Asobo and a Polish studio with Bloober, The Farm51, Techland being the likely candidates in that order.

Kinda sad that even with my Gamerscore and achievements won, I probably won't have a chance at being the no. 1 in my country for any of these categories....

At least you can get up to 10.000 reward points! (1 point for every Gamerscore between Oct 1 - 19.)
