So a guy on twitter claims that he knows one of the two studios MS already acquired because he has a friend that works there. Says he doesn't want to say which studio presumably because he doesn't want to risk getting his friend in trouble, but he says the studio is a big enough deal that some people will freak out even more than they did with Bethesda. I can only think of 2 non-publisher owned studios that would be as big a deal for Xbox as Bethesda Game Studios with Elder Scrolls and Fallout. Bungie and CD Projekt. I can't imagine MS would be willing to spend $10b+ on a single studio for CD Projekt, they are massively overvalued right now, so that pretty much leaves Bungie, assuming this guy is telling the truth. Grain of salt and all that.

Rough Translation:

I am biting my tongue. They have revealed to me one of the two studios that Microsoft has bought and has not announced yet. He has been a studio worker himself and I can't say more. But I give you my word that when it is announced, many may freak out more than Bethesda.

Oh dear lord.

I don't think it's Bungie though.

Also, good translation. Pity I didn't notice or I would've translated for ya.

"I'm biting my tongue. I've been told about one of two studios bought by MSFT that they haven't announced yet. It's been a studio worker himself and that's all I can say, but I'm telling you, when this gets announced, it's very likely plenty of people will flip out more than they did with Bethesda."

He says it's a European studio that has had a good relationship with MS in the past including supporting Gamepass. So it's not Bungie and the only studio that would actually cause a massive meltdown would be CD Projekt Red and i don't believe for a second that MS bought them for 10 billion. The only other European studios that would actually be big news would be Remedy, IOI and Techland.

Yeah, if it’s European this seems suspicious for sure. I would be flabbergasted if MS was willing to spend $10b+ on CD Projekt, more than they spent on all of Zenimax on a single studio, and I can’t think of any other European studios that would be as big a deal as Bethesda. Techland, Asobo, Quantic Dream, Remedy, Crytek, Bloober, etc. games just don’t sell anywhere near as well as Elder Scrolls and Fallout, only CD Projekt’s Witcher 3 is selling about on par with Skyrim over the same period of time.

Cries in Rockstar North.

EDIT: Didn't realize that the parent company is located in New York.

Crytek would be big too but it doesn't fit his description at all. Dontnod or Bloober are they only ones that fit outside of CD Projekt and are both way more believable but would not be news on par with Bethesda at all, he may just be over hyping it.

How legit are these two studio rumors really? I feel like they are coming from multiple sources and feel like it's sure thing and we just don't know what studios at this point.

I have a feeling that MS is going to make us wait until The Game Awards to make these announcements, unless they have an XO event planned before the end of the year.

I´m a PS fan and this whole Zenimax acquisition story has convinced me to get a Series X in addition to the PS5, now that they´ll finally have a robust 1st party portfolio as well, owning both of these consoles is the way to go for me.

Welcome to the community bro. We’re pretty relaxed here, feel free to post often. You won’t find winded posts, bordering mental breakdown because of this hobby in here.

So, what game are you looking forward to on Xbox?

Thanks man,I´m actually no stranger to Xbox, last gen I had the PS3, 360 and Wii and the 360 was my favorite system for the first half of the generation...then when Sony´s 1st party offerings started taking off and Xbox´s attention shifted to Kinect they started to lose me, then all that happened this gen with Sony´s 1st party getting even better, that whole 'used games' controversy, apparent continuation of focus on kinect in the beginning of this gen had really soured me on the Xbox brand.

Now it´s different,.... since they´ve amassed 23 studios, they´ll finally have a robust 1st party portfolio like I mentioned...as for the games I´m looking forward to, well, despite not having seen a single screenshot, I´d have to say my most anticipated game right now would be Starfield, also that Elder Scrolls like game Obsidian is developing...it seems like they´re going back to being the home for WRPGs like the original Xbox was.

Yeah I'm getting both. Series X at launch, PS5 probably next year. I doubt Xbox is getting much of any Japanese support and I need that next Persona and the obscure JRPGs. PS4 was pretty damn good to me this gen. I have close to 30 games, all exclusives and or were exclusives (like Kiwami 2 at that point).

The Series X preview embargo is over mostly focused on features and BC stuff.

Here a little snippet of a few games from The Verge:

So basically Xbox got 2 more studios but are saving them for a rainy day to announce. Lol I hate waiting

Xbox: Best hardware, Game Pass best value, best BC, more 1st party genres and multiplayer titles.
