Just hit 200 000 gamerscore! I've already seen the admiration in people's eyes when they look at me.

Good job!

Seriously, how the heck is Ryan McCaffrey IGN's Xbox writing team head and head of their Xbox podcast? This dude doesn't even like Xbox at all. Was just looking at his tweets from yesterday defending Sony's hatting of FF16, meanwhile here is what he tweeted about Tomb Raider back in 2014:

Truly disgraceful takes.

Nah... He loves Xbox, he is really Xbox fanboy and I like him a lot :)

I think he right; while those deals sucks there is no point about bitching Sony, if Microsoft does that with a big IP we would be very happy about it for sure... I think he is really talking about 2 different things:

- Those deals sucks for the gamers.

- But for a business standpoint, those are just amazing moves from Sony.

I'm very disappointed by the FF16 exclusivity. Games looked okayish but it is back medieval settings... And I will be forced to play it at a probably lower quality that it could have been on the X and with the Playstation controller layout which I hate the most. It sucks, but he is right, this is a HUGE win for Sony.

I usually play only Sony third-parties on my playstations (and buy them for that, the exception being Metal Gear Solid 4) and this will definitely force people to buy a Play Station Five just for this game.

Ye regarding cross-gen games it only took him a month. What a dildo.

It looks like Sony may not be offering a free upgrade of ps4 Spider-man, like they are if you buy the ps4 version of MM you get the ps5 version for free. As of right now only way to get the ps5 enhanced version of Spider-man is buying the MM special edition, which is basically the same thing going on with Control. It only makes me appreciate Xbox more with their free enhanced version of Gears 5, FH4, and other 1st party games.

The difference is in his wording. He refused to acknowledge that the FF16 deal was bad for FF fans on Xbox and PC, only saying that it was good for Sony, yet his first and only take on Tomb Raider was that it was only good for "petty fanboys". That's textbook hypocrisy. Either timed hat deals are bad for everyone, or they're not a bad thing at all, you can't have it both ways depending on which platform is doing it.

Personally, I think timed hat deals are bad for everyone. But clearly Sony is not going to stop doing them, and Nintendo is still doing them as well (Disgaea 6 was just announced as Switch exclusive in the west). That is why I think it's time for Phil to give up his moral high ground on this and start the big moneyhats again, your morality doesn't sell consoles and it's hurting Xbox fans in the end, the less Xbox hardware that sells as a result of Sony having more big exclusives than Xbox thanks to hatting, the harder it is going to be to convince devs to support Xbox in the future, which means even less games for Xbox in the future.

Well, even though the common sense says that it's totally correct, I wouldn't expect Xbox to do this even if it hurts them long term. They just seem to be going their own way even though some of the steps they make completely make no sense but still. Expecting them to counter Sony on such deals is setting yourself up for disappointment. Also, we had rumors that they tried to do the same, but given the current difference in userbase, the price they have to pay for such deals is huge that they seem to think it doesn't worth it.

And that is exactly why Xbox needs to draw the line here, before it is too late.

The more exclusives Sony hats now, the more PS5 sells compared to Xbox Series, and the larger the sales disparity between PS5 and Xbox Series grows, the cheaper it will be for Sony to hat more games away from Xbox in the future. Phil has to stop Sony in their tracks now, early gen, before PS5 pulls so far ahead of Xbox Series that he dooms Xbox gamers to 2nd class citizen status for the entire generation. It is absolutely worth the money to do it. Studio acquisitions are nice and all, and they should absolutely be spending alot of money on them, but any studios they acquire now won't have Xbox exclusives ready for years and years, that is far too late to stop PS5 from pulling massively into the lead. Xbox needs a mix of moneyhatted exclusives in the short game and big studio acquisitions for the long game in order to have any chance of success this generation, it's a shame that Phil doesn't seem to see that.

Been obvious for quite some time that they don't care. That's why I wouldn't expect any counter measures from them for this moneyhat deals.

Yeah, he also praised Sony for doing a 180 on their "we believe in generations" policy yesterday, despite criticizing Xbox for their cross-gen policy just a month or so ago. Ryan really outed himself as a grade A hypocrit yesterday.

Can't stand Ryan. Dude's a total hypocrite, and glad he got clowned on twitter yesterday.

Won't pre-order it.
Maybe some store will bundle something with it on launch day or Black Friday or at the very least during the holiday season.
I can wait another month.

Doubt it will sell out in Germany...

When I look at the direction MS is going, doing the old school moneyhate for a 3rd party exclusive actually is not the best way they can spend their money.  Instead if they spent tht money to get day one release of a high profile 3rd party game on gamepass sounds much better.  Just think, we have industry leaders saying game prices will be higher this gen and then Sony says their first party games will cost 70 bones.  Having all their first party within gamepass and a few high profile 3rd party there as well day one is a huge incentive especially with prices, CORVID and that monthly Gamepass console deal.
