I don't think Microsoft has to react to pricing of PS5, they're in a good place with the cheapest next-gen digital console. If I was going to buy PS5 I'd be pissed off having to pay 100e for a disc-drive.. and I wouldn't buy digital console without service like game pass, with new games costing 80e and all.

Going with Xbox is really a no-brainer this time around.

On another topic, Coalition has managed to make a mess of Gears 5 matchmaking again. It's all over the place, I have no idea why they need to reset all ranks after the damn seasons anyway. Hnnngghh..

OTOH, the Sony event did confirm one of shika's suspicions: they moneyhatted FF. I have no clue how after going multiplat they can just roll back into a single ecosystem, presumably for good. On the other hand, there was no mention of the other project... and this reveal seemed kind of... underwhelming tbh. Maybe, as some have mentioned, this is Square's way of rebooting the series and they are cutting any potential source of losses and replacing them with the monnies from Sony. 

Thankfully that was it. Now, if I may... 

Return the favor with TESVI, add better mod support (as in, let Nexus in!)

Square doesn’t really care. There is almost no FF player base on Xbox. They can even not release it on Xbox at all and still be fine with that. I think we’ll see that when ff7r releases on Xbox and will obviously don’t have strong sales. And here’s also Sony giving them a huge pay check for that. Who in sane mind would decline such offer?

Maybe they could have gotten a FF player base on Xbox at some point if all the FF games they released on it weren't so bad....or painfully mediocre at best. I seriously can't think of another franchise that gets by maintaining it's overall popularity while receiving continuously underwhelming games. The pass it gets from gaming journalists is astounding. You take the FF name off all the XIII entries, and XV, I guarantee you knock at least 10 meta points off every single one. Through it all though, FF still gets treated as if it's riding a never ending high of RPG greatness.

I wouldn't call 2m almost no player base personally. FFXV sold 1.14m physical in the first 18 months according to VGC, and based on what we know about console digital ratios from that time period, it's a safe bet it had sold at least another 700k on digital at that time. Another few years have passed since then, safe bet FFXV is over 2m sales on Xbox now. 

Sony is awful for hatting the series back again, and Square is awful for being willing to take the money and screw over the 2m+ FF on Xbox and 1m+ FF fans on PC.

Agreed. And also couple the fact that they were doing well with Xbox relations, putting games on game pass and then 7 happened, and now 16. And I'm seeing not even a fraction of the outrage that MS got for Tomb Raider. Astounding.
