How do people feel about the new xbox store update for anyone who has it? I haven't been on vgchartz for awhile so sorry if this was brought up already.

I hate when I want to play a game and when I start it requires a large update for a part of the game I don't even play. At that point I just turn off my Xbox.

I noticed a new (and probably small) dashboard update.

When playing a game, you can now sort achievements by progress, GS value or rarity.

I am hoping they overhaul Achievements. At least the ways we can view them. It would be cool if they partnered with TrueAchievements.

Yeah it bothers me that I have to start up the game in order to view its achievements from the quick menu.

Also progress tracking should be mandatory. There were a lot more games in the early X1 days that used that feature. Let's say there's an achievement about killing 1000 enemies. No progress tracker and no in-game statistics menu. How would I know how long it might take to get it? I might be just short of it by a few dozen kills, I also might be at only half the number. It's not something you could just guess while playing.

Making them pop offline would also improve the experience a lot. No more "Done! Unlocking..." Bullshit.

Cancel the download, press "go offline", start the game and it should work.

Honestly Microsoft needs to have 1 more show before next gen in September.
Show gameplay of whats coming soon and show their third party deals even if they're not coming to gamepass.
Halo Infinite beta announced for early next year.
Perfect Dark announced with some gameplay (Phil was playing it earlier this year do gameplay should be possible)
Showcase the new UI in a short 2-3 minutes video
Announce the EA Play collab and announce Mass Effect and Starwars day 1 on gamepass
Announce Series S
Undercut Sony in the price for Series X and announce release date.

Then leave October for PR and press reviews and launch November.

Just go offline if it's single player game. But hopefully, MS will fix this in Series X. No point in forcing updates for single player games.

Started playing Red Dead Redemption again. Got to say, in 4k it feels almost like a remaster. Quite a jump from 720p heh.

I recently played Bully on One X and DAMN... the lighting in that game was so much better, they did some good changes with that. I can't imagine how good they did for RDR.

Totally agree about the tracking feature. It seems more games miss it these days.

Recording time played should be mandatory as well and the way it is being done should be unified. Yakuza, a recent example, count the time when the console is setting idle. If you check the time in my save file, it will show something like 250 hours while I didn't spend more than 50 hours for sure.

10!

Will play this baby on my PC, but I cannot wait for the Series X version!

Good job Microsoft :) There is your next gen show case!
