Forums - Microsoft Discussion - Senua's Saga: Hellblade II announced for Xbox: Series X

It is a good start for Microsoft leading into the next generation. Xbox Series X confirmed games include Halo Infinite and Senua’s Saga: Hellblade II. Anything else? I know the trailer for the console also showed what looks like Forza and FIFA.

Ubisoft already announced they have five 2020 games, all of which will be on next-gen systems in addition to current gen systems. Watch Dogs Legion, Rainbow Six Quarantine, and Gods & Monsters are already confirmed to be on next-gen consoles, the other two are rumored to be Assassin's Creed Vikings and Just Dance 2021.

As for 1st/2nd party, nothing confirmed yet besides Hellblade and Halo 5, though the Series X trailer strongly hints that there will be a Forza game available on launch, probably Horizon 5, since Motorsport 8 is still early development. I wouldn't be surprised if they have a 2nd party exclusive available on launch as well, something from Japan maybe, if they want to make any sales headway whatsoever in Japan early gen. MS did say in recent interviews that they were interested in partnering with JP devs on 2nd party exclusives.

Microsoft will likely want to have a steady stream of games throughout 2021, 22, etc. Before they had issues releasing games outside the holiday period. At least more than one decent size game.

As for the launch, a Forza game was a given as it's the biggest racing sim franchise.

A game directed towards Japan would be smart. Though it would take releasing several games to have any chance of it not bombing.

Why isn't this trailer getting more hype on here!? The trailer was so good. If this was announced as a PS5 game, I would bet this thread would have at least 5 pages by now.

Come on, don’t do that.

To those asking about exclusivity, it’s also a PC release.

If anything, it's a complement to playstation. Xbox just doesn't get the same attention regardless of how good the game looks. Hopefully that changes next gen.

Because there is no XBOX community hear? You want PS fanbase to fill in for that?

Great creepy trailer tho. All that was real time. *shivers*

Is it hard for people to get hyped for a true next gen game regardless of platform? I mean, I'm super pumped for TLOU2 and I don't even own a ps4.

The big question for me is whether it can retain the heart and soul of the original, or whether the massive uptick in budget and scale will rob of it of its spark and leave it feeling commercialized.

Bet with Liquidlaser: I say PS5 and Xbox Series will sell more than 56 million combined by the end of 2023.

So, let's chat...

What if I told you that this character model was not just an in-engine model? :P

The game will definitely have a bigger budget than the first one, which would lead to better visuals (already seen in the trailer), better controls, bigger world, etc. Will it ruin the spark of the first one? Only time will tell.

What exactly do you mean by this? That this is the model we will see when playing the game?

Look closely at it. Does it look like too good a leap over what's currently on the market? It is a leap (yes, leap), but people think it is pre-rendered CG and don't really seem to get what they're seeing here. Hint: your gameplay won't look much worse (if any) than that (the character model). Go back and review this gen's models then review Senua again. It is a natural progression with a device that is so much more powerful than current gen machines (all of them, including the X1X).

The environments are better than what you'll get, but they were very clever in mixing that stuff in there with her model. Just.....keep watch. ;)

Do you have a comparison between the two Hellblade games?

Rewatching the trailer one big thing I noticed that I didn't before is how good the mouth movements were compared to what I've seen in games. It feels more realistic. Plus that detail inside her mouth. It isn't something developers have done before. I thought Arthur Morgan in RDR2 on PC looked amazing, but what was shown in this trailer is a big leap forward. That is if the final game looks as good as the trailer.

If there is this much of a jump I can't wait to see footage from Halo Infinite.
