So last year I just copied and pasted my descriptions from the year before. I know I know, the dedication is real. I was thinking I could make some nice banners for my entries instead, like some of you do each year and I myself did a few years ago.
On second thought I’m not sure how or why anyone should respond to this, or feel joy. Oh well, at least the thread’s been bumped up again. |
I hope you are joining again in guessing the games in the discussion thread, last year you guessed some of mine.

PM'ing me the list is something you should do whenever possible (that is, whenever you finish it). It's for helping me compile the data early for the celebration event at the end, because otherwise it'd take a lot of time if I only got to work on the finished lists starting on December 31st. You don't need to do it, but it is helpful to me if you can send it ahead of time while still taking the nice day-to-day approach in the threads themselves.

So let me get this straight: the PM is what actually gets used for the official tally, so...why even have a thread then? That system seems to defeat the whole purpose. And also seems like a lot more work. Also, I don't believe I've ever used the PM system here in this board, so this should be interesting.
*grumble grumble*...*siiiiiiiiighs*
Alright alright. I don't like feeling rushed, but I'll do my best to finish my list up early just for you! Feel special!
Also, you're a raccoon.

The first time it happened was kinda a mess. Smeags had them sign up and deliver their list only through their post in the official thread. Many started with their lists but not all updated through to December 31st. So in the end results only a fraction of the lists were considered. So over time additionally came the sign-up-thread (this here) and the PMing of the lists in advance to be considered in the results thread.
So yes, PMing helps the organizer (this year mZuzek) immensely to compile the results, as he can start with it before December 31st and consider your list even if you forget to post somewhere in December or have something else to do in your life (happens to the best of us). The official thread is for the joy of everyone looking up which new games popped up on the individual lists. The discussion thread is then to keep the official thread clean from the chatter about the games. And we guessed last years which games would be next (after dropping some hints).
